Thats the French style. Retreat and wave the white flag.

That’s what we usually do when we go to Parkhead & ibrox.

Don’t think this will fit in with JKB’s preferred approach of geggen-upthe****inpark. Obviously with 4-4-2 and the same eleven every week.

It’s not diet that needs to change its age of squad.

Probably both.

Bielsa has had buy in at Leeds. Including the ageing Hernandez who extended yesterday.

Our squad is not as old as you think,  but it is not very mobile.

Bielsa will play 3 3 3 and 1.

Naismith fits the 1 perfectly.

Something like

Smith Souttar Halkett

Meshino Haring Irving

Walker Clare Mulraney

       Naismith

Bielsa turned shit into gold, 3 waves  defensive core ball playing tracking core pressing core. And your movement man creates the holes.

Every player runs runs and runs. They never stand still. Until lately I think he realized a 46 game season it was too much

Don't see how it's hard to do Gerrard implemented it with his Rangers side as soon as he got to Scotland if the likes of Don Cowie Ross Callachan and Prince Bauben can do it why can't this current team do it absolute nonsense it may take time but any manager that comes in is going to need time to sort out this mess.

We can do it we showed against Rangers and Celtic at home we can do it people have gegenpressing all wrong it is physically impossible for a team to press for 90 minutes Man City can't do it neither can Liverpool they press during intervals that a team is most vulnerable at losing goals hence why you have analysis.

Liverpool doing the lactate test the last two years

Guess who won it the last two years none other than 33 year old James Milner age is just a number Milner showing up a few of the younger ones there 😉 Naismith is more than fit enough to play in a pressing team where the problem lies is he's very injury prone but a good manager can manage around that 👍🇱🇻

Possibly though need another six or seven on standby. Bielsa has two really good guys up front but the real question is will his squad last the pace for an entire season. Big ask.

The Dutch started it in the 60’s and 70’s, especially at Ajax and Holland in 74 under Rinus Michels. Obviously Cruyff took that to Barça as manager and Guardiola learnt from him.

School playground pressing :laugh2:

Bunching...iirc. Everyone following the path of the ball.

Yeah think that is why they eased into a less energetic style from October,  perhaps by accident when West Brom dominated but yet Leeds won.

You need 90 minutes of energy every game to play these pressure styles

I think Tynecastle would become a fortress playing this style of football.

Correct. The best example was the 4-0 Celtic game. Never gave them a second.

Could be a system that gets something out of Damour, still not seen much from the lad but was lead to believe his game is all about energy

Liverpool in the first seasons under Klopp had a bad habit of routing teams, but then dropping points in games that were tight after 60/70 minutes.

It knackers your team.

That's why Klopp changed tactics after the CL Final defeat to Real Madrid, he now lets the opposition have a lot more of the ball because he has the players to be able to do this and he felt that opposition teams had worked Liverpool out and know much better how to play against them these days, and he knows they're devastating on the attack, he couldn't take chances like that with Lovren and Klavan as a centre half pairing, and Moreno at left back, hence the reason he used the geggenpressing method to protect his defence. I saw an interview with him explaining it all somewhere but forget where it was now.

Levein was inspired by watching Anderlecht beat Celtic in Glasgow, they never gave them a minute on the ball and their players just worked harder than Celtic's players, he adopted that approach in our next game against them and it worked a treat, and then never used it again for some bizarre reason.
