Richard Gordon just announced an apology to Austin McPhee for last week's biased comments against him. Surprised at that one. Never mentioned any names probs because Willie Miller was in the background.

Did Richard Gordon ever apologise for his bigoted and xenophobic rant about Milo, when he old him that he should go back home?

BBC Sport Scotland or whatever the hell its called is a hugely unprofessional institution.

Richard Gordon has been heading up that radio programme for well over a decade an has to be accountable for a lot of its issues.

Its jobs for the boys and it always has been. The sooner it has its funding cut the better.

What did Gordon say, and what form did his apology take?

Just said they apologised for the unbalanced discussion last week.  He then moved straight on to our search for a manager.  Didin't sound in the slightest bit contrite.  Almost sounded as if he had a wee smile on his face and was saying what he had been told to say.  Prick.

As another poster touched on in this thread, Gordon showed his true colours with his ‘send them back’ comments regarding Miko and Lithuanian players in general, after the Scotland game a few years back. How a confirmed xenophobe can be employed by our national broadcaster is just baffling.

The fact Gordon has had to apologise is utterly embarrassing for the program.

He must be on borrowed time , surely ?

The program needs a clean out and modernised asap . If ever a show was just going through the motions this is it and i blame Gordon as he leads the agenda with his constant drivel and attempts at humour .

The fact that such an apology has to be issued at all says everything you need to know about these people and their operation.      It should be a huge embarrassment to the BBC but probably isn't even remotely.       Just don't listen to their poison.

👍 they’re like Hale and Pace without the jokes. Pair of absolute cavemen in their field. If they were broadcasting south of the border they’d have been binned years ago.

Guys a dick. BBC Sportsound is full of them. Only Tom English is decent. The rest of them I wouldn’t even wipe my arse with

He is decent. Jim Spence was good, too.  He left for a reason, though.   Other than that, Bob Crampsey was the last decent ‘journalist’ on   BBC Radio Scotland.

For some reason Richard Gordon has always annoyed me. Just has a bit of a smug/condescending tone. Would love it if he got punted.

Bungalow Bill

The Scottish media having it in for Austin makes me want him to get the job. Would love it if he did well just to get it up them!

Yet there was folk on here trying to claim that it was fine, they were right and that there was no problem with the way they talked about macphee.

Whether you like him or not or think he has a future at Hearts or not the treatment he and our club received last week was disrespectful, vindictive and completely unprofessional

David Francy puts the current crop of commentators to shame, as well.

Aye, that’s a perfectly logical reason to give someone completely under qualified the role of our manager.  In the 1% chance it would work he would get it up people  we waited three years for Cathro then Levein to get it up them also.

The match report on the BBC Sport Scotland website for today's match describes a Cyprus substitution as 'X replaces Y.'

Sums them up.

Whitecapjambo

I moved to Ireland 4 years ago and the sports reporting is head and shoulders above anything the BBC offers up. Nightly program called Off the ball on the newstalk station is class. Lost of younger journalist types present it and very few former players have cushy jobs on it. Cover a full range of sports and show a genuine interest in everything from premier league to GAA etc etc.

Why should he? I doubt it haunts his dreams or anything like that. Quite right to cast up Gordon’s disgraceful comments that he wouldn’t have made about an aberdeen or old firm player. Entirely relevant.

No, he doubled-down on that one by coming on here and pretending he isn't:
a) Anti-Hearts

b) Xenophobic

c) An arsepiece

A big thank you those JBKers who have the time to listen to Sportsound and post the bits about Hearts here.  It saves me the time of having to listen to hours of complete shite spouted by drunks, failed businessmen, piss poor ex-players, failed managers and people so out of touch with modern football that they resort to personal insults by way of ‘analysis’.

When they were talking about Jack Ross getting the hibs job, Willie Miller stated that Ross" looked the part". An obvious indiscreet dig at Mc Phee. (For not looking the part in Miller's opinion). He just can't let go.

Not the most humble apology ever but it's a start I suppose.

Hearts and or MacPhee must have kicked up some fuss to get that.

Hopefully the bunch of cretins on that programme have had their arses kicked by their boss.

Yeah the more they behave like this, the more belligerent I get in wanting us to stick it up them.

So:
- Massive beards: OK
- Perms: OK

- Highlights and silly hair-cuts: OK
- Hideous porno 'staches: OK
- Slightly longer hair: Oh lord no

I'd write Miller off as an old fossil but I'm starting to wonder...

Michael O’Neill put miller in his place on sportsound during the week. And the immature comments on sport scene last week because Austin was wearing a suit. (Due to the fact he was attending the Big Hearts event) from Sutherland and co
