beaver
Richard Gordon just announced an apology to Austin McPhee for last week's biased comments against him. Surprised at that one. Never mentioned any names probs because Willie Miller was in the background.

DH1986
BBC Sport Scotland or whatever the hell its called is a hugely unprofessional institution. Richard Gordon has been heading up that radio programme for well over a decade an has to be accountable for a lot of its issues. Its jobs for the boys and it always has been. The sooner it has its funding cut the better.

Just said they apologised for the unbalanced discussion last week. He then moved straight on to our search for a manager. Didin't sound in the slightest bit contrite. Almost sounded as if he had a wee smile on his face and was saying what he had been told to say. Prick.

As another poster touched on in this thread, Gordon showed his true colours with his ‘send them back’ comments regarding Miko and Lithuanian players in general, after the Scotland game a few years back. How a confirmed xenophobe can be employed by our national broadcaster is just baffling. Edited November 16, 2019 by GinRummy

ramrod
The fact Gordon has had to apologise is utterly embarrassing for the program. He must be on borrowed time , surely ? The program needs a clean out and modernised asap . If ever a show was just going through the motions this is it and i blame Gordon as he leads the agenda with his constant drivel and attempts at humour . Victorian
The fact that such an apology has to be issued at all says everything you need to know about these people and their operation. It should be a huge embarrassment to the BBC but probably isn't even remotely. Just don't listen to their poison.

Whitecapjambo
I moved to Ireland 4 years ago and the sports reporting is head and shoulders above anything the BBC offers up. Nightly program called Off the ball on the newstalk station is class. Lost of younger journalist types present it and very few former players have cushy jobs on it. Cover a full range of sports and show a genuine interest in everything from premier league to GAA etc etc.
