I'm not sure it would split the fanbase that badly. I think even the vast majority of fans that don't dislike him still recognise he's hopeless as a manager!

He was a tremendous captain for the club, one of the most determined people I've ever seen wearing a Hearts strip, (the match where he decided to take on the whole Falkirk team to get us back into the game was phenomenal) and he was inspirational to those around him. That was as player, as manager he's failed at every opportunity and should stay well away from the doors of Tynecastle.

Some people are just not managerial material. Great at the job but could not  run a bath. That’s life folks.

Legend of a man.  Not wanting him as manager though.  He's welcome back as a guest at Tynie anytime however.

Don’t mention scales. Disrespectful to our reptilian former captain.

Hahaha! :)  I would genuinely rather have Lennon and Paul Kane as our management team than this turncoat.

Agreed.

Cup winning captain that put his body on the line every game.

Left after the madness of Vlad was too much and went to win more trophies. Pity it was Celtic but loved him as our captain

And round in circles we go.

Nowhere near us please because he is a crap manager.

Social media full yesterday of the Craig Beattie gif because it upset Celtic fans.

Professional footballers eh, celebrating goals, moments and victories for their team, fans expecting these guys should be exclusive to their time at their club.

An utterly shit manager.  Hopefully Hibs are stupid enough to give the loser a job, I doubt they will though and I expect him to just be a shit pundit for years now.

If we appoint Graham Alexander, I wonder who’ll be the first to seethe when they see his picture and think it’s Pressley? 😁

A few hibsings in identification ability.

First quote from my mate and I 100% agree.

I'd rather take Levein back and get relegated than win the league with Pressley.  Utter snake, possibly the only man who would make me cancel my DD.

Bazzas right boot

I've no problem with Pressley other than he's a shite manager.

No on that basis.

CL back as dof with Pressley as manager.

Daly as AM.

If we did a poll I would confidently predict a large majority would say he is one of our greatest ever captains and welcomed back to the club anytime.  (Not as manager as he’s not a good one).

Been sacked everywhere he goes. I remember him saying he wanted to finish his career at Hearts before it all went pear-shaped as well as saying he'd love to manage the club one day. He's been slightly linked to us but I like to think we can come up with far better alternatives! It's a no from me.

If he wanted to finish his career at Hearts he should have had the brains not to act like a total arsehole in front of hurting Hearts fans that day!

He burnt his bridges with many Jambos however since then he has proven to be a hopeless manager!

I find the snakey stuff utterly tragic but anyway, file under talks a good game but atrocious manager who should never be mentioned for the Hearts job.

So many of you still bitter twisted after all this time, you're only upset because he did the chest thump in a Timothy top.

Pressley - cup winning captain and club legend.

As our manager - meh, but welcome back at the club anytime 👍

Civil war would ensue, the clappers v the sackers.

There’d be very few folk who’d accept Snake back at the club on his management record alone, nevermind his chest thumping incident. Thankfully, I don’t think even the Hearts board would be that stupid.

A Shoreditch Heart

fantastic player and my favourite captain of nearly 50 years as a supporter, but to appoint him as our manager now would be utter nonsense - no thanks!

Make a good assistant manager. Put the cones out at training and such.

Levein could be his assistant.

He is as others say a slaver, but I'm not so sure he's an eloquent one. More on a par with Yogi Hughes, they both struggle to string a sentence together.

The chest thump. 😒

That's all certain folk seem to remember.

He was a brilliant captain, and great player with the club for many years.

Try not to forget that part as well.

He loved our club.

That was very easy to see.

His chest thump was aimed at Romanov and and he stood up to that nutter when no-one else would, bringing along 2 players that loved the club also.
