 4-3-3 for me.

Walker and Meshino as forwards rather than wingers.

Damour and Clare can run & cover group quickly, that’s why I’d have them in midfield.

Wouldn’t change the back 4 because I don’t think neither Brandon nor Dikamona (to a lesser extent) can be trusted.

                    Pereira

Hickey   Smith    Berra    White

                    Whelan

           Clare             Damour

  Meshino     Uche         Walker

I'm sure I read Damour is suspended

Feck me, Johan.  If that’s the team the morn, we have a very good chance of sneaking a wee win.

We need to go for it.

A shame if true, he’s not had a great start but I think he needs games. Irving’s tidy on the ball and a great passer but he’s not a runner and Bozanic isn’t really up to it imo.

Did you see damour vs st Johnstone..? Wow. I agree he may need games, but can you name a good one yet..?

I thought MacPhee would throw a spanner into the works and from the rumours I’m hearing it sounds like hes going to

I'd go with...

                    Pereira

Smith Dikamona Berra Hickey

Morrison Whelan Irving Meshino

                  Naismith

                     Uche

Austin said he hopes he can get at least half an hour out of Naismith. If so, I'd start him.

Smith has been brilliant in the centre but I am yet to be convinced by White so would rather have this back 4.

Morrison and Meshino to protect our full backs but try to keep theirs pinned back.

I agree, Damours been awful, no way about it, but we need energy in midfield.

As I say, I like Irving a lot, he can pass for fun but a midfield of Whelan and Irving is a bit on the slow side.

On a big park I think I’d go for guys that can run and cover ground.

Maybe in the later stages of the game when the tempo drops a bit, we can bring on Irving for a bit more control.

Does it involve pretty much our only real option in a certain position being dropped?

If true that Naismith, Walker and Haring have all trained this week that would be some line up. I guess the three of them not having kicked a ball in a while is an issue though, but we do need something fresh and stronger characters in the line up.

The biggest problem we have is in defence and who to play where. I think Smith will remain at CB with Berra and Hickey will obviously play one of the sides which leaves a decision between White (if fit) and Brandon.

Personally i’d go with Smith Dikamona, Berra, Hickey

That’s fair enough, but I’m not sure damour has even shown great energy. I don’t think he’ll play, but we’ll see..

Walter Bishop

A lot of rumours regarding team selection and with MacPhee saying we have been playing too many out of position and he is only planning on playing 1 player out of position, I think we will see a changed team and formation. 4-4-2.

Pereira

Brandon

Smith

Berra

Hickey

Morrison

Whelan

Clare

Walker

Keena

Uche

That would point to Uche and if that’s the case I give up.

That's what I've heard mate.  Hoping it's Chinese whispers and a lot of nonsense but if Macphee thinks MacLean or Keena are a better option after watching Uche terrorise them at Tynie I assume he'll not be in charge very long.

To all the moaners on the forum-that I see have swiftly moved on from Levein to targeting McPhee/daly etc...Being negative is a pointlessly endless mindset. It’s unpeeling a limitless onion. Once you’ve focussed enough on one problem there’s always another problem to be negative about.

GIRFUY! Hearts are a great club & can do without all this addiction to moaning and negativity. Let’s get behind the team and look ahead with some optimism.

Well said. Some of the moaners are Victor Meldrew* types who just like moaning, some are trolls,  some are Hibs trolls, and there are quite a few of the latter.

*Not the one on here.

I would definitely play Uche but if he is dropped I think the logic would be that his style can have a negative effect on his teammates. For example, lazy balls to Uche and less movement from all players and a slower tempo.

Personally, I'd say the solution to that is drilling the message into all players that isn't acceptable rather than dropping a player with an excellent record in big games.

I'm happy for us to try something a bit different in general tomorrow though so we'll see what happens.

not trying to be cryptic for the sake of it - would hate to give away the potential team before Hearts do officially. However, that being said, the rumour doing the rounds is: a player who may have played the full 90 in the closed doors game on Tuesday is supposedly starting.

In general I get what you're saying, but I agree the best action in that case would to be getting the other players drilled that automatically going long isn't acceptable.

Uche ragdolled them at Tynie, to willingly drop him to prove a point doesn't seem like a good idea in such a big game.  As I say it could be nonsense anyway and even if it's not I'll get behind the team but I think it's an odd choice.

Well he would at least give us some mobility.

I haven't got much against MacLean. I can see why we would play him.

But as you say Wighton is mobile, he has never really been fully fit in any of the games he's played for us so far. If he is injury free hopefully we will see much more from him.

Damour is absolute horseshit!!!

He will never make it at Hearts.

Cant control the ball, slow and goes back the way all the time. A Craig Levein. Player

Right.  Pre-match build up full on here.  Glorious sunshine.  Bacon and egg pie tonight accompanied with chardonnay.  I'm a chardonnay socialist.

12 hours to go.  Early night with Ian Rankin and the wife.  Up at 4am to watch it on the telly.

Surprisingly confident.

Raining in Edinburgh for most of morning, but opposite in Glasgow, not due to rain through there until about 2ish.

Working today but all thoughts will be on Hampden from 3 o'clock (don't panic, I'm not a brain surgeon or anything like that).

We've never beaten a Rangers at Hampden and I'd be delighted if the Hearts lads and lassies witness history unfold today. Safe journey. The weather's honking.

:flagwave:

Edit: Hearts on penalties, aet.

Did more than fine at Cardiff. Supporters I know here, were annoyed they let him go. I think we'll perhaps see a new lease of life with certain players.

Hopefully the shackles are allowed to come off, now Levein, & looking likely Daly & Fox's input is lessened.

My hope and belief also, Barack. Quite a few haven't functioned properly for whatever reason and Damour, for example, did not come here a poor player.

High hopes there will be an upturn in performances, individually and collectively, now the change has been made.

Any advice on places to park? Happy to walk for 20-30 minutes.

maybe Govanhill or Croft foot with plenty of side street free for parking and outside permit exclusion zone.

also there are road works at polmadie road for anyone going via m74 so will be busier than normal
