Odds on next manager

I'm of 2 minds.

1.  He knows the league well and has had Motherwell punching above their weight for a while on a real shoestring budget.

 but....

2.  As others have said, no DoF model means we might attract someone with far more experience and a 'name' who will give the fans a real boost as a marquee managerial signing. Plus we can take a little time deciding.

Utter nonsense

accurate I’m afraid, are you another one who started watching his team this season? Motherwell have been absolutely shite for 90% of his time there

The team with one of the lowest budgets in the league finishing 7th and 8th and getting to 2 cup finals is a pretty decent record, and that on top of consistently losing your best players.

and yes, they have been very impressive this season.

Ofcourse hearts fans would never do anything like that

The accusations amounted to nothing in this case though.

IT SIMPLY HAS TO BE DAVID MOYES.

We have the stadium, infrastructure, finances and board.

We have the potential here and we need to take a gable on paying decent money for a manager.

David Moyes would work wonders.

We need to think BIG.

Robinson is the disappointing cheap option.

My refreshed enthusiasm for the game on Sunday has suddenly evaporated with this news.

But what do I know? If this story is true then I hope my reservations are proved wrong.

Its like gruel being replaced with seawater.

Glamorgan Jambo

The main source for all the Robinson stories these past few weeks is Stephen himself. Highly doubt there's anything to this.

Don't know about Robinson but whoever scouts their strikers has done a good job over the past 4 or 5 years.

Sends his teams out to win, has an eye for a decent player from lower league and gets to cup finals. Seems like a reasonable candidate.

The two Motherwell fans I work with are very happy with him.

I don’t know much about him, but when Motherwell came to Tynie recently I was surprised to see that despite dominating most of the game, they sat back on their lead in the 2nd half, and nearly chucked the 3 points away.

Ive seen enough football like that, so not for me.

Their budget will be about 7th /8 th so par at best, their fans by and large wanted him out 🤷‍♂️ Becuase he was a hoofball merchant.. “direct physical style “ Must be a superstar 😆😂

And Manchester United supporters wanted rid of Sir Alex Ferguson at one point too.

A new manager is the same as a new player, they are only good if it works out!

How many games will the new manager get before this forum is after his head????

Ferguson was tried and tested when he went to United but he’s united fans did want rid I’ll give you that.

Robinson and Fergie? No comparison really though.

No long term evidence to support that claim Geoff..

I wasn't comparing their managerial abilities. Just pointing out that given time certain managers can win the fans over.

I’m not having a go mate and I agree with you but I feel a club our size should be aiming a bit higher than Robinson.

Killie fans were patient after their new manager didn't get off to the best start and that was him replacing someone they wanted to keep.  After what we've had to endure, I think we'll be as patient as kilmarnock fans.  Probably more so with the mess he has left behind.

Decent pedigree in England, especially at Leeds, now in charge of Newcastle 23s. What's Robinson, Ross,Etc ever done?

Its going to be a punt, we have to hope it's the right one, though it's not a hard act to follow.

Are you saying we should appoint him because you think he's better than them?

Ignoring caretaker spells, he was manager for less than 6 months and was no great shakes.  Was also manager for a short time at Rotherham before getting the old heave ho.

Some people may be better coaches than managers (Cathro?) and NR might be one of them.

Who changed the thread title? That’s someone opinion and not fact. Think he fits the bill, plays younger players, decent football now and they have one of the smallest budgets in the league
