We have seen the emergence of some very good young players. We have been to a cup final, making a very good go of it against a celtic team expected to walk it. We've been to a few semi finals which is an improvement in cup competitions for sure. Oddly enough, if our league form could match our cup form we would be laughing. I feel for Levein. He's desperate for a trophy with hearts. He's been so close, if he could bag the league cup this season he could actually bow out with a thank you rather than under such a dark cloud. The other good news is there are always other seasons, and assuming we don't have a third year of ridiculous injuries the starting team with everyone (or almost everyone) fit with a couple more good additions - a winger and permanent goalie especially - is more than decent and should be seen as a very good foundation to build on for any potential new manager. As I've seen us turn around seasons before, without the injuries as an excuse for the previous poor form, I'll not be slitting my wrists quite yet. Mind you, I don't think I've ever written off a season so early even with a semi final to look forward to. But then I've never seen us get injury after injury after injury like this either.
