Howdy Doody Jambo
Hamstring injuries, we seem to have more than our fair share Most of our squad have had one in the last year, they seem to be contagious Is it our match preparation, warm up warm doon methods? Is there a preventative? Massage, specific exercises? Is it our fitness coaching? Something at our club just isn't right by the amount of injuries and especially pulled hamstrings this isn't just down to bad luck or is it? Surely the club should be looking to prioritise at getting advice from a specialist in this field
frankblack
We weren't getting these patterns when Robbie was manager so analysis of the backroom staff preparing the players for match day needs to be done. I do fear the players aren't being prepared correctly, but why did we start with Damour yesterday when he went off with a hamstring injury last week, and went off half way through the first half yesterday? How could he have possibly been passed fit? Then there is Uche who didn't make the squad because of a hamstring injury in training... Balernojambo
Of course I do not know the ins and outs of their training and I am sure they have adequate sports scientists and physios in posts but the injuries are a concern. Therr are the obvious impact ones and we have 100% been unlucky over the course of tbe last year. However, I do think they take risks with players. Examples include Washington (who i am sure was on the bench because he felt tightness in his hamstring) and Damour who was obviously struggling yesterday. I wonder how much emphasis is placed on flexibility training within the club. Footballers tend to want to strengthen but this often creates muscle imbalances especially in quad v hamstrings. They can also be opposed to flexibility training. However, you can see that it adds longevity to careers for example, Ryan Giggs.
Don Dan
Dikamona did his towards the end of the game. No subs left so he carried on. There’s a problem that needs identified and sorted out quickly. I’d be looking at the person in charge of physical training and see if that set up is wrong. Horatio Caine
If confidence is low, is it possible that some players are saying they're feeling their hammy is tight so they don't play as a precaution? Could be a handy excuse to evade the ire of the fans.
19/05/2012
Too many players taking the easy excuse each week. They now know if they say they have a tight hamstring they will get the week off. It’s becoming a joke no other team has as many call offs each week
gashauskis9
Half expecting Naismith to go to another specialist this week and get told where his knee and hamstring should be there’s just a tattie with a shoelace tied round it.

Think Clevids was more cramp after a challenge late on. Cant believe he's hardly played while Berra has been dross.
Seymour M Hersh
Some of the players who have suffered hamstring issues have hardly played for the last year and I wonder if this is a factor.
Jambo 4 Ever
As I’ve said before and got stick for doing so from the usual bullies .... out training and warm up / warm downs are an issue

Let’s hope you’re right and it was only cramp.

allystrachan
I have posted the article about Leicester’s title winning team & how they had so few injuries previously. I remember at the time seeing them use a piece of kit for performing Nordic hamstring curls on which gave data feedback on imbalances etc & how this was a vital piece of kit for their sport science team. Every time we get a new injury it makes me think I wonder what sort of information our squads would show on it & if our science team are using anything similar.
