*** Heart of Midlothian Match Thread v Aberdeen***

As we are all still no doubt buzzing over the derby yesterday!! Massive game on Wednesday in the cup!

i think Sean Claire has all the tools to be a good player but i think taking him off yesterday was the turning point.

Lets stick with the team that finished the game yesterday if everyone is fit and really have a go on our turf.

Ryo looks like some player and thought Morrison done really well when we came on to give us more natural width.

Hearts for the win!

Need to keep a back 4 formation that is working (last 30 mins v Hibs). Can be a 442 with Meshino off Uche, or 4231 which is my preference:

                           Pereira

Smith       Halkett      Berra       Hickey

                   Irving       Whelan

    Morrison     Meshino       Mulraney

                           Uche

I dont think Mulraney justifies a starting position.

Any chance of Naismith making the squad?

Craig has said no. He is being rested to allow hamstring injury to heal completely.

Thanks for the Naismith update. any news on Souttar and Haring? as in does anyone know the timeline for their return to first team action?

If all are still out, the team picks itself - that which finished the game against Hibs

I don't understand the reasons to persist with Mulraney, he was more ineffective than Clare.

He took the ball forward well at times, getting us higher up the pitch but his crossing and some of his touches were very poor.

Mulraney has speed to take a man on and get in behind a player, he needs to work on his delivery but its getting better compared to last year! Clare on the other hand.... all the attributes but seems to lack the fight for the SPL (hopefully that changes)

How is Michael Smith doing? Was he subbed after taking a knock yesterday? They said on the radio the plan had been to withdraw Mulraney for Dikamona, but Smith needed to come off.

Mulraney backtracks, has a lot of speed. While he was off form against Hibs he still helped. Clare I'm afraid just lightly jogs as the world spins by him...

We're nae coming to Tynecastle this week with confidence.

I'd expect to sit deep and try and frustrate and counter you guys, certainly in the first half.

If use sit off and allow us to put pressure on use, the crowd will get behind the team and allow our confidence to build. best thing you can do is put us under pressure early and turn the crowd..

Any word on your ticket sales? We aren't selling in the Roseburn for home fans so you have up to 3,500 if you want them 👍

According to our site, there are 202 left

Block J Lower - 49

Block J Upper - 144

Block K Lower - 1

Block L Upper - 8

So looks like we are filling about 3/4 of the stand

Quite possibly, but I don't think that will affect McInnes's plans.

He'll be hoping to keep a clean sheet and nick a goal then go into game management.

Problem is we are not good enough to keep clean sheets most games

Hoping for the same starting line up as sunday, minus clare. Would maybe stick Irving in instead, with morrison to come on later in the game.

Hopefully mulraney can be more productive with his final ball. Would keep him in, to keep a relatively settled team, but needs to do more.

Looking forward to wednesday now. Hope we can kick on.

Spot on about Clare. Contrast with the effort put in by Uche, heart of a Lion compared to the heart of a mouse. Clare looks to have ability but very little passion or game awareness and doesn't want to get involved in the battle at all.

Mulraney in the last three games has been starved of support but I think he linked very well with Meshino several times yesterday. Him on the left and Morrison on the right gives us a much more balanced team.

Looks like they’re not selling H and M.

Maybe just the three sections on sale ?

If so, looking at 2000 right now.

I'm taking it that this is an extra time and penalties situation, which means I can't go because I would probably miss the last train home from Glasgow Central.

Hoping for a Hesgoal link from Hearts tv.

That would be my pick.  Damour gets caught on the ball outside the box far too much, Irving gives us more composure and is a good passer.

I've no idea how much is in each section.

I would agree the left parts of the stand (as you look at it) are only released if the previous section sells out.

Five sections in the Roseburn. 700 odd in each section. Would make sense for them to sell the centre three sections first. Looks like that’s the plan.

Mulraney definitely should play, his final ball is poor at the moment but he is linking well with Ryo

Mulraney was driving me demented yesterday with his crossing but some of his interplay with Ryo was sublime. Also with Hickey joining in sometimes.

We usually get K, L and M, so I would have assumed that they were sold before J was released

So roughly 1900 sold then (if just the three sections.

I'd have thought there would be a better spread across the three sections then rather than 193 in J, with only 8 in L available

Are you sure that M hasn't been sold already before J was released.

I'd have though it would be easier to police / manage that having spaces at either end of the stand, especially as we all come in from the M end

That tactic has worked for visiting teams recently to be fair.

Having smith back at RB is a huge boost for us. Wonder if Clare will start or not

My mate expects us to win as well.

Problem is for us, the above tactics have worked for away teams, however being Aberdeen the crowd will be more patient as opposed to Hamilton or well, where the crowd get frustrated quickly.

Being a cup game as well, conceding first completely changes things.

Could well be. If you have, it’s a good uptake. Nearer 3K in that case.
