Hard choice (there're so many brilliant ones to choose from!), but if I had to drink one brand of beer, and one only, for the rest of my life, it'd probably be:

First rate choice btw.

There are also ones called Poretti 3 and Poretti 4 that you should try and get a taste of.

It’s also no mistake that I omitted French lagers/beers, they are shite.

A bit, but it's much better and has a more complex taste with much greater depth of flavour. When I started drinking hefeweiss, it was Erdinger I usually went for (partly as it was the most widely-available one in Scotland at the time), but when I tried some of the others I realised what I'd been missing. Erdinger's OK, but pretty one-dimensional compared with Weihenstephaner, Paulaner, Franziskaner, Schneider Weiss, Hacker Pschorr, Maisels and the like.

The Brauhaus as was (dunno what it's like now, or even if it's still open) was a great place to try all of these and many more!

I'll be drinking Lowenbrau Oktoberfest tonight after a Hearts win.

That is a cracking beer. Not to be messed with though!

Is the correct answer. Although Hacker-Pschorr was my personal favourite.

See old boys that mock lager? Every single one of them needs their hard drive checked. Invariably their only ever anecdote is "SOME OLD MELT IN THE DIGGERS CIRCA 1962 WOULD CALL YOU A POOF". Great patter, grandad.

Anyway, lager is the boy. Never met one I didn't like. Except Skol. **** Skol.

This remind of a barman from the Diggers backi in the day.

If you asked for lager he would tell you “If you want a p***s drink go along to The Blue Lagoon.”

Sorry if that offends you.

:P

Same here, but I'll go with Original Helles as first choice and their Pils a close second.

Shepherd Neame's IPA comes third.

Lager is awful. Taste like chemically treated cats piss.

I'm only 30. Had that opinion since I was in my teens.

Whenever I go to a pub if they don't have a decent beer/ale available I'll just go straight to the whisky or rum.

Each to their own. Coriander can taste like soap to some people. I read it’s down to the “olfactory receptor genes” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Absolutely. Everyone is different.

My taste buds tell me lager is terrible. :D

just back from prague. There are many good ones but Pilsner Urquell takes a bit of beating.

Out of the mass produced one Pilsner Uquell and Staropramen must be up there. I like Budvar too even though alot of the czechs wouldnt thank you for it.

Cascade (tasmania) and Corfu Brewery are another couple that i've really liked.

Closer to home the Wee Braw beer from the brewery at hardengreen is lovely as well.

Gonna chuck something leftfield in here but I know quite a few JKBers have been to Vienna so I'm going to throw in Ottakringer Gold Fassl Bier. Delicious pint if I may say so!
