How good is your betting terminology?

So a trixie is 3 selections. 3 doubles and a treble.

Silly wee game, you answer the question and nominate a different bet. Dundee Shuffles with atc round robin are expected to come later 😁

I used to do 15 bets.

Four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a roll-up.

10 pence stakes too.

Just like me with my £1 and £2 accumulators unless I get home from the pubs pissed as I did last night when I stuck £10 on Meshi fgs and 1-0 Hearts.

What odds did you get for that?

Can you still do Union Jack bets ?

Yes, I pity the fools who had to settle shite like that before the machines took over.

I had a shift once where we had to manually settle every bet we took, piece of cake trap 3 at evens🤣 until I got handed a uj and L63 with non runners and rule 4s. I just wanted to greet because it was ew too 🤣🤣🤣

Nothing worse. Nothing. 😁

One thing I would say is you develop a skill to identify a person by a single pen stroke. So if you know it's old George's bet you also know he knows how much he is due down to about 10 decimal places. You just ask him how much he wants and dish out his 83p no questions asked.

As RGG said upthread - 100/30.

My favourite rhyming slang.

That's strange, the old song goes 'I'm Burlington Bertie I rise at ten-thirty'. :)

Not sure if this counts but at the Casino when getting cash back I always ask for Ponies meaning £25 chips, it's to do with Rupees when the 50's had monkeys on them and the 25's had ponies.

A monkey is 500. Hadn't heard the rupee thing before.

While betting on course I used to ask for the fractions (or bits). Meaning 100/8 instead of 12/1; 100/7 instead of 14/1.
