Hearts eye Stephen Robinson to replace Levein

If the Sun story is correct and their track record is very good, then the main news is that Hearts are looking at making a change.

Which I would have thought would be good news.

For me, any new manager coming must be allowed to bring in his own backroom staff and left alone to run the team. We should get rid of Austin Macphee! Other than Craig Levien, he is the one common factor in the dug-out during both Cathro and Levien's tenure!

Or told that everything he does has to be run past the DOF.

If Levein does go upstairs to being DoF, then that role and remit needs to be made public, transparent and clear.  Otherwise all the innuendo surrounding it will continue.

Other clubs have had or have DoFs but never get put under the microscope.

This thread just sums up how pathetic and childish our support is.

There is not a single name mentioned on here that would by ANY better than Levein.

God help our club when we achieve fan ownership.

Agreed but his note passing to Daly will mean that no fan will ever trust him not to interfere. He has to be completely cut adrift from the club

EVERY name would be better than Levein.

He is most likely going to gain the title of worst EVER manager.

Sorry for being a cynic but in my opinion the stories about McCann and Robinson have been put out there by Hearts to take the immediate heat from Levein

The club putting these rumours out hoping  to buy Levein time, in respect that we might turn it around

Seymour M Hersh

I wonder how he'd cope with the massive increase in expectation levels from our fans. The bar is pretty low at Motherwell but not here if some posts are anything to go by. Also having (probably) significantly more money does not always mean they'll continue to buy/acquire well.

Levein hasn’t been sacked and Hearts are ment to be looking at Robinson.

So is it Levein who is looking at Robinson ?

So is Ann Budge looking at Robinson behind Levein’s back ?

I mean the whole idea that Hearts are looking at a manager who is contracted by another club while

Levein is still manager & DOF is ludicrous unles Ann has lost control of the club.

I would read up a wee bit on the FOH and their governance before and after takeover.

God won’t need to intervene !!

even if we were considering Robinson there would be a hefty chunk to compensate the Well he's contracted to 2022

Hearts sitting last in the league, been relegation form for nearly a year.

Do you want to tell us why the names mentioned would do a worse job?

Hence a public proclamation of remit and role.

CL is having a shitemare as head coach, but I don't think he's been completely useless as DoF.  Setting boundaries could be the way out of this impasse.

Crystal Palace and QPR both have either a DoF or Sporting Director, so it wouldn't be a new experience.

Do their DOF's have a runner passing notes to the bench?

What, apart from the name on the thread you’ve just posted on? 😂😂😂 What does Levein have to do before some fans open their eyes. Bottom of the league after 5, bottom of the league for 2019 and almost bottom of the league for the last 12 months. Signed over 70 players, over seeing the biggest injury crisis the club has ever had, hasn’t a clue after 3 years what his best formation or starting 11 is........yeah, no one mentioned could do better than Levein 😂😂🙈🙈🙈

A bit disrespectful to be going on about a new manager with such a big game coming up on Sunday and next Wednesday, time for everyone to get behind the present manager and team.

We are Hearts and we should be working to the rules.

Sack Levein then employ a top manager who wants the job.

Yes, of course, Levein is the devil reincarnate.

It was his fault Hickey was sent off against Aberdeen, he made Clare lose his footing on Saturday and he is responsible for every injury.

Grow up.

We could have re-organised after Hickey's sending off but we didn't do that properly and were a shambles.

We put a dodgy midfielder at right back on Saturday. Shambles.

He played Washington on Saturday even though we later learn he had a tight hamstring. Shambles.

Right now, yes. Has he ever finished above Levein though?

He is the manager of Motherwell. Who do you honestly think would finish higher, given historic and current resources?

Another  question. Who do you think is getting the most from what they have?

**** that. It is disrespectful that he is still our Head Coach.

But i forget, our entire season now apparently rests on the next two games. Not the previous 40 games, or the games after Aberdeen. Just the next two.

It seems to be the case.

Ann needs to remove him from the Head Coach role and actively recruit a replacement, letting Levein return to his DoF role. Then they can cross their fingers that the new man starts well. Perhaps then, Ann and Craig can ride out the storm.

Robinson would be alright to be honest, although I would like to see us aim a little higher and get someone who has some experience down south, maybe even in Europe. Similar to what Killie have done by appointing Alessio, I'd love for us to go and be super ambitious.

Have to admit (queue the mocking…) I do genuinely feel for Levein and am thankful for everything he has done for the club, but the time is right for him to step aside. Was chatting to him at the reserves game yesterday and he’s just an inherently nice guy who seems to be doing his best - unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be working.

When you think about what he’s done for the club over the years, it’s actually quite staggering. He’s put his body on the line (his knees are completely knackered from his playing career, and he’s had a heart attack and returned to work amazingly quickly as manager) and he’s just a Hearts man through and through. But something just isn't right.

Would be OK with him going back to DoF as well, because he does some good work with the young lads and has an eye for good young players as we’ve seen over the years. He's been responsible for or involved in the transition of a significant amount of players from academy to first team (and beyond, in some cases) from his first stint as manager (Gordon and Berra being prime examples), his time as DoF (Paterson, Souttar for example), and his 2nd stint as manager (Hickey, Irving).

Neilson done great in the championship! Went off like a train and the others couldn’t catch us.

before the end the football became turgid! Side side back!! Repeat!!

and it continued in to the new season.

liked the  guy but imo we got boring to watch.
