We're playing a good team here. As for them running out of steam, they won't

FM just seen a half and half Japan / Scotland flag

Guy interviewed before the game has a Japanese wife.  Lives there and now his home.  He was in his Scotland rugby top and the three kids in Japanese ones.  Sure one of them had a flag stick with what looked like blue and red colours.

That explains that then !

Fair play to him and his family - they'll want whoever's wins to go as far as they can

At least the referee is being sensible there. The boy was almost on his knees.

Agree but, these days he’s a lucky boy. The tackle is becoming a thing of the past

Not sure about that

Wales blitzed the Aussies in the 1st half and the Aussies blitzed them in the 2nd half

Keep on kicking the ball away!

Keep moving it wide and bring the wings into play. This could end in a comprehensive defeat if we just give the ball straight back to the Japanese. They are playing all the quick rugby that we are supposed to be employing.

Japan get the ball out of the scrum right away and have us retreating whilst we take an age to move it and then come up against a brick wall.

Going to get a hammering here if we don’t up the intensity

Up the intensity and be abit more alert, a couple of times we could have nicked it and haven't been awake to that.

But Japan's game has dropped abit, and there still only 7 points in it..

Always the case for us. Tries don't come easy

Weak challenge on the high ball again lead to that. Great try though.

Game over. We are pish. Japan deserve to be winning by the gap they are, they run with ball in hand whereas we just kick it back to them every time.

we have to score 22 points now not going to happen. At least we won’t be embarrassed by NZ in the QFs and Ireland will have to play them

Handling it like it's coated in glue.   Never seen a side be so secure in handling.    Scotland have had to make a million tackles and are totally knackered.

Just giving them the ball. Clueless!

Where's the game plan, doesn't seem to be any. Just kick it into their half and defend seems to be our only tactics. First five minutes it looked promising too!

This is almost as embarrassing as watching the Scotland football team.

There are similarities. It's a flat performance so far

Always the game plan. But Japan are a funny lot sport wise, might get scared of the winning line.  Just need to stick in here

Really impressed by this Japan side. Quick, accurate, tackling like demons and inventive.  Scotland's kicking game not working so it will be interesting to see what they do in the second half.  They need to change the tactics.

Correct. They've been brilliant. I don't know what it is about Japanese team sport - but in football, both men's and women's, they are so, so creative, inventive, clever. Rugby has a new power. It's a joy to watch (unless you're either Scottish... or South African).

Defensive positioning is embarrassing at times.

Japan have been different class TBF.

They were pish against Samoa and we were decent. You just don't know which team will show up in the case of both Japan and Scotland.

47 carries over the gain line.    Lol.

Don't come back out is our best strategy now.

I dunno. It's sport. Ajax-Spurs? Wales-Australia? There's no reason why Japan will slow down though. They're amazing.
