How can anyone thinks Dikamona’s a worse option than Brandon? Brandon’s the Callum Elliot of our defence.

Dikamona’s usually willing to dribble forward and can head a ball clear/at goal.

We could have used him in CD instead of Smith on Sunday.  Do you think he would have been a better option?

Exactly. People raving about Smith and Berra at CH. fine and it worked on Sunday but in putting Smith at CH we just end up being utterly woeful at RB as have no cover there, and playing Hickey at RB is highly questionable.

Captain Canada

Brandon is the dirtiest player I've seen in a while. He does just foul constantly and is always way off the pace.

Right now our best defence is Smith, Dikamona, Berra and Hickey. Gives us the right balance. Livi like to punt long balls so having Clevid back there tomorrow makes total sense.

So it worked on Sunday. Just stick with it then. We’re constantly changing things, partly because of injury and partly because of tactics. If something works then stick with it surely?

Interesting thought.  I was more coming at it from the angle that if he's never going to get a run out he's as well not being there and the wage freed up. If he's truly that far down the pecking order surely you fill the bench with a promising youngster that you want to develop instead?

Yes... That would mean a right back playing right back.

2 Central defenders playing in the centre of defence.

And a left back playing left back..

Over to you the Tinkerman.

Could be an alternative. Saying nothing more.

and yet you have :D

Rb really shouldn't be that hard a position to fill yet both ourselves are struggling and the national team are (for promising young scottish RBs, obviously Mikey Smith is the best RB we've had in years).

I remember watching Gary Neville and Carragher having a jokey discussion on how fullbacks are just shite wingers or centrebacks that didn't quite have the growth spurt needed for CB. Surely we could look at converting a winger that isn't quite going to make it there to being a RB. As others have said its becoming clear Brandon isn't making it here.

Nah, that would be far too easy!

Agreed. Think we have a couple of promising ones coming through but probably not quite ready at this time. Injuries to Soutar and Halkett are really causing us issues. If they were fit Smith would be rb every week and if he was injured Soutar could cover. When he first broke into the team I thought Brandon looked really promising however his injury seems to have destroyed his confidence.

Just exactly.

Our clueless leader will butcher this justified and balanced line up.

Until Halkett and (if ever) Souttar is back, Smith must play in central defence.

Then you are perming Hickey, Brandon, Dikamona and White dependent upon White's fitness.

Which promising youngster would you have played against Rangers - and have you seen him play?
