Yes we've been unlucky with injuries but my opinion is our medical department as a whole is somewhere between amateurish and shambolic .

We seem clueless on diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

Needs to be looked at asap .

And Levein has a panache for signing players made of egg shell or projects as he calls them

Our physiotherapy/injury prevention dept really is the worst in professional football. There has surely never been a team as "unlucky" as us with injuries.

So after the game today, where Naismith clearly wasn't effin fit, we have:

Hearts Injury list XI

                Pereira

Smith Souttar White Garrucio

Walker Haring Henderson

                Naismith

         Uche Wighton

Hopefully White will be okay.

Henderson got a sore one which I thought was a foul. Probably not strong enough yet and not really first team.

Yet we let 2 of our most promising youngsters go out on loan. Great forward planning

I don't think they would contribute much here at the moment, would have kept Edwards for his athleticism though.

So,

We seem to have an outstanding injury record at the club at this moment in time.

Are we really signing injury prone players or are we doing something in training that is letting this happen?

I'm purely speculating, who else uses the Orium? What are the injury stats like with them?

What are we doing in training sessions?

I refuse to believe its just bad luck, it seems to me every game now we have someone hobble off for months at a time!

I'm not looking for conspiracy theories etc. Just wondered if any member has a bit more knowledge in this and can shed some light. Are we breaking our own players??

I have not, apologies. I'm working abroad. Watched the game and tried to put it to the back of my mind!

Maybe should have done some research first but it just seems incredible that every game we lose a tactical sub or two to injury.

Do you know more Mikey?

No.

Good on you for the reply.

I don't think either Henderson or White would be a massive loss. It is a concern we have several players finding match fitness.

You got the info?

The prognosis for Henderson and White.

Mulraney looked like he’d pulled his hammy at the end too.  31st August and they’re dropping like flies.  Embarrassing.

Exactly. Its not like these lads are just rolling ankles etc and shaking them off. We're looking at torn ligmanets or pulled hamstrings as a basic standard injury now!

I'd place my cash on something in practice/training are putting players at risk, just waiting for them to go into a game and do one overstretched tackle/turn and *bang* muscle gone, 12 weeks sideline.

I feel white has had a lot to answer for in recent games. Out of position. Way off pace. Sketchy touches.

I think Berra is off pace but I feel Hamilton goal was purely Aidys fault. Berra for once looked to be dealing with the ball.

To get back on point. Agreed. Neither would be a loss.

Hickey isn't quite up to 90 minutes either and was at fault for 2nd goal..

If Berra had dealt with that ball, White wouldn’t have had to have got in the position he was in to begin with.  It was a simple long ball that Berra couldn’t deal with.  I wish people would stop looking for scapegoats to protect Berra.  He’s our weakest player by s mile and will cost us a goal every week in this form, regardless of who’s between the sticks.

Fully aware Berra is off pace but I genuinely think in this instance Aidy comes in like a wrecking ball when it wasn't required.

What did we expect with a player who's not really played in two years and a player who's confidence is worse than Bobby's.

I'm not protecting Berra, I just honestly believe in this one situation it's on Aidy.

I'm bored with it now.  It's just become so repetitive.  Don't buy any conspiracy theories.  Sheer bad luck.

Fact is thought we should have been able to wallop Stenny, east fife, Ross county, Hamilton and others with the players we had.  We couldn't because our head coach is massively out of his depth.

I honestly think I would be 10 times better.  Pace on the flanks, control of the midfield  solid at the back.  Crosses pinging towards marksmen.  I'll clarify that for our younger viewers.  Marksmen are relatively short players who score goals.  We haven't had one since Robertson.

You have to genuinely question the reasoning behind it. Is it training / lack of rest, or pure ****ing bad luck?!

Could it be related to pre-season training sessions in Gullane tackling the likes of murder hill?

Fully agree. To a certain extent you make your own luck. Are players warming up/down correctly? Are they fit enough?

Players will break down, guys like White will be on the treatment table more often than others, but something has to be going wrong somewhere along the line. This volume of injuries for this long isn't normal. I half expect to lose the Japanese lad in the next month.

Edinburgh Rugby do it aswell. I'd say it's the opposite as we have had more access to better equipment and coaches our injuries have increased 🤔 it's a ball buster for sure as it theoretically shouldn't be happening the way it is.

This may seem like pilling on but it’s relative to the thread. Jamie Brandon was told by the club doctors and his own surgeon not to take part in the Gullane Sand Dune work out. Coming back from ACL corrective surgery etc everyone thought the impact wouldn’t be ideal to someone just back from that kind of injury. Levein told Brandon that if he wanted to be part of the first team squad, he’d be there. That’s not hear say, that’s straight from the horses mouth.

Uche at half time against killie in the split told Levein he felt his hammy a bit, he was sent back out for the 2nd half and he didn’t last three minutes. Mikey Smith with the same thing last week. Berra last season was miles away from being fit but was rushed back and played when he shouldn’t have. Haring in the same

situation, playing with injections etc and is now proper struggling.

Wether it is bad luck or bad management (of the injuries) we obviously have problems in this department. That’s not Levein bashing or bashing the club, it’s the truth. We pick up injuries every week. That’s not normal.

Add levein to that list as hes clearly not fit to manage our great club.

Reading just now from the Sunday Post (not the 3.9.1939 pull out) Craig Levein saying John Souttar should be back for the Motherwell game. This follows his trip to London on Friday to see another specialist.

The decision to risk Smith last week in light of what they knew before the game is shocking and has now robbed him of 3-4 weeks of football and an international double header.

On the Souttar front, I’m not in the slightest bit surprised to be honest.

What did they know before the game? Haven’t heard about that.

We were told that Naismith had trained all week and was fine for the game yesterday.

Yet we were struggling with a piss poor performance especially in the second half and he got 10 mins on the park.

If he had been ready he would have been given half an hour or so in my mind considering our ridiculous shit performance that had us hanging on for a point against ****** Hamilton

You get the feeling that someone is being economical with the truth here on our actual injuries situation.

There must come a point where it’s impossible to just blame bad luck. There is a consistent, systematic issue here, the odds of it just being random injuries must be astronomical

Radio said that Naismith was in the starting 11 until the morning of the game when he didn’t feel right.

Our fitness is beyond a joke. We have looked unfit for seasons now. We’d never looked fitter under Robbie as well.

Makes you wonder if it dawned on Naismith that if he played and picked up an injury he might blow this last chance of getting his 50th cap and Hall of Fame place.

Would love to know how many weeks of injury has been caused be players being put out when not fit. Haring played for weeks on injections, Uche at Ibrox wasn't fit and was out for months after. Naismith. Smith lately.

Problem is players who aren't fit play shit anyway so what's the point. Better of with fully fit youngsters than a senior struggling.

Did we ever pick up points thanks to a someone playing through the pain barrier
