It was strange .. they were advertising for staff one minute then shut the next was in after Ladies Day racing at Musselburgh and it was busy but looking a bit tired

Goldstone Wonder

Much better as Dan MacKay's imho. Had some great Friday nights in there in the early 90s.

I'll always remember it as the boozer I was supposed to meet my Hibs acquaintence in the night of the 98 cup final. Dunno why but he never showed. I ended up just knocking about with random Jambos all night and ended up in Fingers till closing with guys Id never met before or since.

Went a few times before our games at Murrayfield when the new stand was being built. Handy for the trams , not many folk in it either pre or post match and decor a bit unloved.

All roads lead to Gorgie

Successful pubs now seem to be either really cheap chains or posers palaces. AU Bar was maybe one of those in the middle where the market is diminishing.

All the pop up bars during the festival don't help either and show goers should maybe think about using local bars between shows!

I thought they were doing it up, didn't realise it was closed.

I'd be celebrating its demise for that alone...   :muggy:

Went in a couple of times years ago (well pre-£5 pints) and was never impressed.
