7 people going meat-free one day a week has the same effect of one person going totally veggie.

Small changes add up when enough people make them.

Yep, Ackee is good stuff, and very similar in texture to eggs - slightly less so in terms of taste, but it's pretty mild anyway - but you might have problems tracking it down in Edinburgh and it'll undoubtedly cost you a lot more. Apparently, it's one of these foods that's actually poisonous if it's not processed properly first, so even if could get hold of the fresh stuff it wouldn't be advisable to try and prepare it!

Currently live in the Caribbean and ackee is a staple food for Jamaicans. Ackee, saltfish, breadfruit, curried goat....

Lucky you. Never tried breadfruit, but love curried goat and the ackee & saltfish combo!

Trinidadian cuisine always sounds particularly appealing, with its mixture of Indian and Caribbean dishes and flavours.

Cooking is very old. Like, before homo sapiens old. It is thought that Homo Erectus managed to control fire and thus develop the ability to cook food.

There are so many advantages to cooking food in a evolutionary sense. Preserving food, making food easier to chew and digest killing off dangerous bacteria.

So with the ability to cook, use tools, preserve food and hunt it is only ****ing natural that we would hunt animals as an extra source of food considering the lack of agricultural skills that came later.

Any Homo Erectus announcing they were going to eat just leaves would have been clubbed to death....and eaten, probably !

Tastes just like chicken !
