The conversation should take place this week, not as if there isn't a graceful get out clause with this one. Agree to move back to director level and appoint a manager, who has control of first team, a coach who spends all of their time and energy coaching instead of delegating. Why is Motherwell all of a sudden a massive game (League Cup in August). He has a 3 year deal and every signing he's wanted he's got, so he's been backed. He has survived East Fife too The job is his as long as he wants. I just hope Ann Budge doesn't give him an extension, I cannot imagine the reaction of the fans

When CL leaves we shouldnt be going young and inexperienced. Changing before Friday is ridiculous. I think he has the Hamilton game to Steady the team and incorporate the new signings. soonbe110
Unless Mrs Budge changes her ways, which given her business success is highly unlikely, everyone should realise that the current set up will see out this season. If she had any thoughts on changing head coach it would have been done right after the cup final. No business owner is going to sanction several expensive additions to the payroll and then sack the hiring manager before they and the signings get a chance to prove their worth. It’s really quite simple and really strange that many on here don’t get it. If if we don’t win many games over the course of the next couple of months then yes I’d expect her to review what’s going on and possibly make changes but she is definitely not the type for knee-jerk reactions as we have seen over the last five years. mitch41
Knee-jerk your having a laugh. When it's obvious to every man, woman & dog Levien's time as manager is up even Ann has to do the right thing no matter the cost in compensation. Captain Canada
There is no coming back from this for Levein. Budge is delaying the inevitable now I'm afraid. I loved Levein as a player and was very happy with him as a manager first-time round. However, even a run of a few wins now will be quickly forgotten with one more poor result. The number of wins and style of play over an extended period is not good enough, just like it wasn't under Cathro. I think the inaction is a financial decision , as realistically the entire coaching staff needs removed and a new regime to come in.

You’re are forgetting one major factor. Budge might be happy to see out another season, but the fans won’t accept it, not this time. Once the support turn against the manager, and by that I mean protests and dissent before, during and after the game, then the pressure on Mrs Budge will undoubtedly push her to action. The wrath of a clubs support can be an extremely powerful force and cannot be ignored. Interesting times ahead over the next few months, but once it becomes a majority of fans all wanting change, it’s only a matter of time. The answer is always the same: ‘Me, I suppose.’ We are getting bigger so we need some more conventional practices in place to do things professionally." If she can focus on the structure of the football side, I believe she will be able to improve it. Ann actually doesnt put levein in a good light when reading the comments by her on him recently. The above quotation supplied by Zlatan along with her describing him as unorganised as well makes me think of an emerging light at the end of a long tunnel. I reckon Ann will know to do the correct thing in getting shot of the man pretty soon. It may be the hardest decision in her professional life to make.
