It's actually not. He scored for Northern Ireland.

Maybe you should have asked someone before you posted? Unlike you not to ask a question

If Conor Washington turns out to be a dud, time to bin McPhee and wheel Gary Locke back down from the Gorgie suite as assistant. There’s a man that knows how to put the cones oot.

*My point is, McPhee is proper sticking his neck out saying Washington can be a 20 goal striker.

He won't score 20 a season if he is playing 2nd fiddle to Uche ( who will be lucky to hit 10 if he stays fit all season )

He only didn't start ahead of Uche on Sunday due to his eye. He will start on saturday

He did the same with Lafferty, and he'd never scored more than 12 in a season

I pray he's right but it's hard to be confident in MacPhee's opinion on strikers after the way he talked up someone as ordinary as Isma. Why bother doing press pieces like this, I am not sure I see the value in them.

Isma? Came in for £180k, scored 13 goals in 35 Premiership appearances, sold for £360k. That guy?

Scrapping the barrel trying to make that out to be a bad signing! Scored a decent amount of goals and doubled in value! If all our players did that we would be laughing!

10 would be an absolute blinder of a season from Uche

Washington has been given the #9 so he will be starting games, the proof of McPhee / Levein’s eye for a striker will he his goal tally. McPhee says he’ll get 20 so we’re all looking forward to the proof of that. In fairness, nobody expected Lafferty to do quite as well as he did, so all credit to McPhee for that one. Hopefully he can work the same magic with Washington, certainly he believes it’s possible.

For any striker to get 10 or a lofty 20 goals we’ll need some very good midfielders in anyways, to keep the supply lines ticking. Let’s hope Damour is one!

It's actually 0 in the last 16 months, not 12 months.

I assume you don't mean at international level as he scored against Estonia earlier this year.

Big Isma fan. Wish he’d arrived at a different time, and been paired with someone who understands football is a team game. Also wish someone hadn’t shouted racial abuse at him in front of his family, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. 😐

Even 1 goal in 16 months is nothing to write home about

Did you read the bit of the article where it spoke about them getting him to 'forget' the over coaching he got at QPR and Shefield and go back to doing what he did at Peterborough, which is what got him his goals and a £3m move?

So the player we are looking at isn't the one they were trying to make him at those  2 clubs in the last couple of season's, but the goal scorer he was previously

If he was in any way exceptional we would have kept him. The way that MacPhee and Cathro talked about him at the fans evening the expectation was that we had a genuine star in the making. I don't see the point in talking up players, let them do it on the pitch.

What kind of a player is Damour in terms of a CM, more of a natural holding role?

He's pretty balance bit like Dylan McGeouch wont score alot of goals but isn't a natural Haring type player either.

An excuse for what? They have nothing to excuse at the moment, the guy had come to a new country, a new league and is trying to find his feet in a new team and set up! Surely you aren't judging him on his few appearances so far? Without a midfield! Looked far more promising having naismith behind him and a few more days and games to acclimatise.

Not disagreeing with the fact that the utter idiocy of some of the racist idiots that follow us contributed to him leaving, just underwhelmed by his performances for us overall. Him and Lafferty that season were on the whole a disappointment.

Not saying it is but he said he hadn't scored. Why do we persistently have a go at new players because they don't score in their first few games, try and support them.

The same McPhee that recommended Martin as a set piece specialist......? I wouldn't trust either him or Levein to sign one more player after their combined series of Blunders....

Well he's scored three goals in three matches against Premiership opposition in last 12 months. A better strike rate than the mysteriously popular Ikpeazu.

6 goals already this season as well. It would have clearly have been worth the risk signing him.

It's one of life's mysteries why no Premiership club wants to touch him.

Yeah, their manager lost the plot tactically and they suffered from horrendous injury problems.  Ended up having to rely too much on youth players.

I’m not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but it’s well reported that he is apparently a difficult character who could bring issues.

an excuse for why he didn't score anything last season

So you think Austin and Craig deliberately signed a guy who they didn't think was capable of scoring goals, because they didn't want a goal-scorer? They then made up an excuse as to why he never scored any club goals the season before, so that they could get the fans onside with the signing, but secretly knew he wasn't going to score goals... because they don't want their striking options to score goals...

That's what you think?
