Kiwidoug
Don't know but I see on the transfer site that Bobby Duncan is a possibility. He must be at least 75. Remember seeing him playing for Hibs at least 50 years ago. Would add a bit of pace to our midfield😂❤

MCJamTart
I have not googled but I guess Sandy Jardine must be one of the oldest outfield players ? I vaguely remember he played until he was 39? This was very unusual way back in the 80s.

Larry walks into the dressing room and announces: "It's my son's 16th birthday today!" One of the players says "Bloody hell Larry, you must of been young when you had him?!" Larry: "Yes, I was only 16" Other player: "Eh, how old are you now?!" Larry: "28!"

jambogemz
Didn't we have Murray McDermott?? As sub goalie against Bayern at tynecastle in 89? Sure he was in his 40s. My bad, it was Peter Mcloy and he was 43. Edited July 31, 2019 by jambogemz

Not a Hearts story but I was playing rugby against Marlow RFC - we all drove from Oxford to Marlow in cars. Pre-sat nav days, 1 car got lost so we were short. Old boy pops his head in our changing room asking if we were short of players as they had two boys with their kit in their cars if we needed them. 'Yes we could do with them' - the old boy and a young lad appear in the changing room. Percy played backrow for us as aged 74 !! So you've still plenty of time to go mate !! However in days 10-Mar-56 to 20-Sep-95 = 14,438 days 8-Nov-79 to 19-May-19 = 14,437 days Making Henry a day older!

Cheers for the info Morgan. I believe he was on our books the same season as the Bayern game. We must have had issues with our no2 keeper back then to have had both McDermott and Mcloy at the club during that season. Sad to see Murray passed away some years ago. jimbojumbojambo
I have it in my mind that we once replaced a 36 and a 37 year old player with a 38 and a 39 year old in a match at Tynecastle. The players involved were Alex McDonald, Sandy Jardine, Jimmy Bone and Willie Johnston. Might be completely wrong as old age is taking its toll. Would love to have it verified (or discounted).
