West Ham got the stadium at a snip - it was a well publicised scandal down there in the media.

Also players want to go to the bright lights of London - many will not go anywhere just for big money - just ask Newcastle.

Yes West Ham got a very good deal, no doubt about that, but the stadium wasn't built for them at taxpayers expense, as Shaun slavered

Think the Neville brothers are beginning to regret buying in to their Salford vanity project.

They gave Salford an identity but their home town have lost there's

I agree - my point is that they virtually gave the stadium away to Wet Ham.

They did even worse than that, they rented it out for a pittance, taking on large cost commitments that ensured it would be a massive cash drain for 100 years.

Giving it to them would have been much more financially prudent!

Not for the first time you are talking out your arse.

WHU did not have a stadium built for them, they took on the white elephant Olympic Stadium when no-one else wanted to (apart from Orient).

Clubs in the south/south east may have an advantage, location wise, over clubs further north, but overseas players will go wherever they are offered the best deal.

I thought spurs wanted it too?

Either way, no reason it had to be a loss making EPL stadium, it could have been a loss making community stadium, a loss making sports hub for London.

Shit, it could even have been a break- even operation that charged a fair rent to a massive company with huge turnover - imagine!

He could have sold off his shares in Salford.  But I suspect nobody wants to invest when HMRC are sniffing around.

nor should they, I understand the fans will be disappointed but it would be unfair on the rest of the clubs in the league.
