Hearts fans used to sing Hail Hail The Hearts Are Here in the 70s and 80s.

You’ll never walk alone.

Indeed!

Both were sung.

Coburg Hearts

It was on the 'Jambo Tribe' cassette which would be 1990ish.

I know this as I downloaded it recently onto a cd for my laddie and Ive heard him cutting about singing it.

About 5 mins in... beware though it opens with a 'clean' Hearts version of Hello Hello for the easily offended...

Come on Jambos, get on up...

I have that album on my phone and lap-top, also play it on my Echo.

I really do not remember anyone singing that.

I remember Alex MacDonald's departure as being a bit of a shock. We finished season 1989/90 really well and finished 3rd in the league and aside from a very poor decision on the last game of the season would have finished 2nd in the draw with Rangers.

He was sacked 3 league games into season 1990/91 and the defeat to Rangers was far from a surprise in those days.

The feeling among the fans was Mercer had been given the opportunity of a big name Joe Jordan and decided to take it whilst Jordan was still available.

There was hardly a big run of defeats and the fans wanting his head.

It definitely was.

By 18,000 folk?

Or 18?

Not including the knuckle draggers.

It was chanted in the shed. Not sure by how many but Wallace, like me 😊, probably heard it too because he sacked him.

Dont forget, the support was starting to change a fair bit by then. 85/86 attracted thousands of fans who hadn't been there in the bad old days. The newspapers clippings posted on this thread evidence there was a pretty fair split (isn't there always) amongst the support regarding whether a man the club owed so much to should be emptied.

I can only remember YNWA being sung as we trounced Leipzig, Hail Hail was even on the B side of the Colin Chisholm Hearts song single sung by the team and Glasgow Hearts.

SwindonJambo

I began following the club in the mid 80s when there was still a biggish element of sectarian crap sung, though definitely not the majority.  It has certainly dwindled a lot since then but unfortunately not yet disappeared altogether. Hopefully it finally will.  Pathetic stuff.

Y’know Danny?

I don’t  STILL think he’s talking about The Sash.  I have given no indication that was my thought, so wonder where you get that impression from?

Anyway, I’m not prepared (or want to) get involved in an argument over a couple of wee tunes.

There's my impression, no argument here, just another day on Kickback.
