Perfect thread to ask this question. I seem to remember Robbo signing for Le Harve in France towards the end of his carrier. Have I just made that up? It’s not mentioned on his wiki page.

My laddie is 28 and doesn't believe anything on this thread is true.

I'm 31 and ceefax was a religious thing for me each morning. You could go read all the Scottish sports news and each team had a page, it updated like once a week but close season was good! Pain in the ar5e if it changed as it flashed up. Had to wait for all teams news to go by.

But when I was younger and we only had council telly this was the only way I could get the away football scores 😂

Imagine viewing this year's transfer thread through Ceefax. One post per page.

Would be the stuff of nightmares

The 'Sevco' thread would take years to cycle through!

Multiply that by 10 for 5-1 all ove the world thread.

That should be our third strip this season. We can use it at Fester Road for starters.

I remember a League Cup game in the mid 80s when we lost 0-2 to Montrose (I think). I was convinced (naïvely) that Ceefax had it wrong and assumed we'd scored 10. :jj_facepalm:

all round.

My favourite ceefax game - the 4-4 derby

My least favourite game - 2-3 against Celtic when we were 2 up with 10 minutes to go or something like that

I couldn't make the 4-4 game for some reason but I managed to get to the pub to watch the 2nd half score on ceefax. Sitting with 3 Celtic supporters at 2-3 willing us to score when it moves into injury time and flashes up 2-4. We were beat, I turned away from the telly as did the Celtic fans. It was about 5 minutes later I heard Paddy say "FFS, it ended 4-4", cue party time!

Never mind ceefax.

Guys of my age remember looking in tv shop windows for the teleprinter to churn out the scores. Then there was also the half time scoreboard at the game.

Ground breaking stuff!

I did the half-time scoreboard for a while, back in the 60's, also used to sell the programmes.

Happy days !😁

I'm sure I remember tuning into the last few minutes of that game, made worse by the fact that I was within earshot of Tynie. The mists of time....

Where can you get this?

Here -

I have never bought one so cannot vouch if they are good quality or a reputable seller.

There is another company but they put the ceefax as Hearts 5 Hibs 1 instead of the the correct 1-5.

To be honest I can't remember.

It was a chap called Bob, (can't remember his second name,) That dealt with the phone, wrote the scores down, and told us them, and me and the mate put them up.

Btw, fantastic view from there!

It was situated at the Gorgie Road end in my time. It must have been moved there after the cover was built on the terracing.

Was at that Celtic game, got lifted when they equalised, for singing HHGH, FFS!

So they took me to a wee lock up round the back of the main stand, when a roar went up,

Policeman came in and said 3-2 Celtic, gutted,

so my CEEFAX that day , was the Policeman.
