'Pundits' include their pitiful pat Bonner, getting a season ticket at the license payers expense. And Richard Gordon is just an sycophantic  erse

Seemingly they are all over the shop at any cross balls coming in so far this season. The whole defence right now shits it from crosses and Bain is terrible.

Watched most of it on a Romanian Tv stream. Bain all over the place, Celtic midfield non existent without Mcgreggor playing in there. Game was played like a basketball match after it went to 2-2, wide open space for both teams, Celtic didn’t know how to close it up.

At 2-1 cluj had some attack’s without really creating a clear chance then Brown handball was a turning point. Even though the scored within a minute, that seemed to bring them back to life.

Brilliant watch, the 4th was the cherry on the cake

With the resources Celtic have it beggars belief how bad their signings have been recently, its like their letting the huns catch them on purpose...

chester copperpot

Had a few messages in tonight.

Lennon is ****ing clueless is the main one.

Playing probably the best CM in Scotland at left back may be he his biggest downfall.

How shite must it be to support a team that has already underperformed it’s season objectives before the end of August?

He was asked about that directly and said it was clear the problem wasn't down the left hand side.

I don't think he will be seeing the season out.

No, the problem was in the middle, where McGregor should have been playing.

That's normally what Hibs do.

I tell you what, If Celtic don't get absolutely hammered by UEFA for the amount of missiles they were throwing at the Cluj players when they scored their 4th... theres something seriously wrong...

Highlights are up on youtube.

Potentially a tough gig awaiting Celtic in the next round in FC Cluj. Frequent Romanian champions these days despite being a tiny club. Handsomely funded by a wealthy owner.

Could be interesting.

Called it.

The Continental Op

Added bonus - if Celtic and Rangers both get to the Europa League groups, any TV money is split 55/45 in Celtic’s favour, making a small pot even smaller.

The irony for Celtic fans raging at Lennon is that them singing for Lennon at the cup final probably made the boards mind up.

Their Goalkeeper, centerhalfs and two holding midfielders are a big weakness. Their attacking players are decent.

Not one of those teams would beat Cluj over 2 legs.

They’re a decent team.

Are they? They were decent at one point but not sure they're very good anymore.

A quick Google search shows me they got pumped 5-2 on aggregate by Dundelange from Luxembourg in last seasons Europa League play off.

Ironically Dudelange aren't that bad either and would probably beat most of the teams mentioned  .

Hope Lennon is having a total breakdown in that dressing room. Booting bottles, doors and even players.

:verysmug:

He'll be a shivering goon. Yellow teeth chattering away, slavers dangling from his chin. His shark eyes darting from side to side while blaming everyone but himself.

They haven't made the group stages in either Europa or Champions league since 2012/13

Last season beaten both home and away in the Europa play off round for an aggregate of 5-2 against F91 Dudelange from Luxembourg. A team listed on transfermarkt as having a total market value of around £4 million.

How can a team that was in the group stages of the Champions League in 2010 and 2012 be ranked lower than ICT?

and

'Happy Clappers 3 : Panty Wetters 4

I couldn't believe it when I was driving to the game and the team was announced. It was obvious it was going to be a back 4 which meant someone was being shoehorned in at LB, and that was most likely to be McGregor. It just got worse when we heard Lennon's interview on BBC. "Calum will be at Left Back as I wanted as many technicians in the team as possible..." Absolute madness or complete bollocks. Only Neil knows which.

It made it us weaker at two positions.

It was obvious that Cluj targeted McGregor. They hit so many diagonal balls at him. And every time they got the ball wide on the right they got 3 men in the box so that there was always a man on Calum.

Lennon shouldn't have been appointed.
We should have had a replacement in to play LB.
Lennon shouldn't have picked CM at LB.
We should have shut the game down at 3-2.

I could go on, but what's the point?'

The fact that Celtic have spent £10m on defenders, both of whom were on the bench as they conceded 4 goals, should highlight how difficult the transfer market is to navigate. A wee bit perspective for those howling at the moon, all because we had a Czech lad over for a six month stint.
