Plenty of the older generation so do. My dad still gets his Sunday papers & Peeblesshire News every week without fail.

Yep. I subscribe to the NY Times, gives digital access with the subscription. I don't even have the app on my iPad. Love reading a paper/book. Cannot stand reading electronically.

Hope so, keeps me in a job?

Worked in printing for 15 year and seen volumes decline massively.

Sad times unfortunately but with technology as it is papers struggle.

Used to buy two or three a day. I now buy one maybe once a month on average.

Same here. I wouldn't get on a train or bus without reading material. The wife was always complaining about newsprint from my hands on light switches around the house. Now I don't think I buy a paper once a month. Amazing how quickly habits of a lifetime change.

I'm with you there. Some great reads in the NYT.

If the OP meant "hardcopy' news[papers]; naw, haven't bought one in years.

Got a subscription for vouchers to the 'i' working out at 42p an issue or something. Also get the Guardian/ Observer free a few times a week at Waitrose. And I like The Times and pick that up free in coffee shops. I do look at stories online though more are pay / subscription including now The Scotsman.

What I most like is very interesting features / stories from all walks of life. And opinion pieces not all which I agree with which is also good.

Quite good to not always looking at a screen and can chose when I read them. On screen quite a lot so better for eyes and more flexible.

Used to buy a paper every morning before getting the bus to work, now not only do I not buy a paper it's very rare for me to even pick up a Metro. Think the last time I sat and read a physical newspaper was after picking up a free guardian before a flight to London in March.

Now and again, mainly to do the crossword if bored (Like the Express crossword the best).  Never buy one for the house though.

Like having a paper on a long train/plane journey.  Tend to read more of the smaller articles than  I would on a tablet.

I don't read, watch or listen to news on any media.

My life is considerably better off for it.

Never bought a newspaper since purchasing an iPad Pro. One of the first things I do every morning is check over all the news headlines whilst having my breakfast and coffee. It’s a way better experience than a newspaper. I can flick from one story to another and even jump on to sites all over the world to read stories from any city I wish.

I like to think that there's still plenty life in hard copies of written material for the printing industries sake. But newspapers are somewhat a thing of the past.

People want the news fast, at their fingertips, completely in tune with the world's news at the click of a button. I too am the same. It's a shame because I used to love reading a paper when I was younger for all the sports news. I grew up in modern times, but in a household without internet or digital TV until I was about 12-13, so even finding out scores was often done through buying papers.

That’s probably the most sensible thing to do.

We only get a paper when we are back in Edinburgh, mainly because the hotel gives them free!

A proper book is the only way to read imo.

My wife sits with her bloody Kobo in the afternoons and it looks a real pain way to read a good story.

The printed press is yesterday’s news so I honestly cannot understand why anyone (apart from the older generation) would buy one in this day and age.

However, I still have my copy of the Pink from 16.5.98 and many of the next days Sunday papers. ???

Indeed there is.

You have, let me say, a very good way with words.  Something that I hold in very high esteem.

I hope you have factor 90 million for the weather you're having. 45° feck that.

I think I'd stay indoors and read The National and drink nice refreshing Cider.

Got a copy of The Sun for free recently at Edinburgh airport. Skimmed it in about 3 minutes, dreadful publication.

We’ve gone away for a few days to try and escape it,  but unfortunately it’s still bloody roasting where we are now.

Used to regularly buy the Guardian but stopped about five/six years ago when they became focused on clickbait opinion pieces. Still buy the Sunday Times, Private Eye and the Economist. Hate reading electronically.
