I’ll say it again Hibs reserve goalkeeper replaced Craig Gordon as number 1. If Gordon wasn’t an ex Hearts player you’d all be saying the same, he’s not better than what we have he’s very similar, makes mistakes now, is slow and he’s never been able to come for a cross, the problem is he was so good in the past he didn’t need to come for crosses his reactions were incredible...not now.

I’ll guarantee if Levein wasn’t manager this signing would never happen any other manager would be looking to take us forward signings like Gordon will ensure we stand still.

What does being at Hibs, a short loan deal at that, have to do with Bain’s ability? Harry Kane played for Leyton Orient & Millwall. You repeating your point, doesn’t make it any stronger. To further weaken your argument, Craig Gordon played more games for Celtic than Scott Bain did last season.

I agree in part - he's not as good as he used to be.

However, he is better than what we have.

We aren't going to get a keeper of Gordon's quality in his peak.

He'd be an upgrade on what we I have I reckon.

We had Gordon at his Peak IMO. Did well at Sunderland but never really recovered from his injury. Had a good spell at Celtic but has never been the same.since leaving us.

Maybe Levein knows how to get the best out of Gordon.

Nonsense how many caps will Bain get and will he be an EPL player?.

Gordon is still a far better goalie.

There is a good chance he will be our no.1 next season so you better get used of that possibility.

Surely that just clarifies Gordon is on the slide if a shit keeper like Bain is keeping him out the team??

Ffs, aye because he came through the ranks, we aren't going to get a keeper like that from a transfer.

Wtf has Harry Kane got to do with it, how bizarre?

The point is earlier in the season Bain couldn’t get into the team who finished 5th, yet he’s replaced Gordon as No 1 at Celtic, and not just under Rodgers but also Lennon who didn’t play Bain at Hibs..you understand what that says about Gordon’s ability now?

Question mark should have been after 'it'. 'How bizarre' should have been a separate sentence. The second paragraph needs entirely reworked. Definitely not your best work.

The fact that Gordon wasn't even on the bench by the end of the season, after previously being no.1 for years, suggests either he was injured or had fallen out with the management team. As previously stated he was outstanding in December against Rangers, you don't become a bad player in a couple of months. To suggest he is the same level as Zlamal or Doyle is crazy talk.

Pretty sure Bain got in because Gordon was injured and kept his place.

Might be wrong though.

Rodgers seemed to rate him highly maybe Lennon is different.

Well we all know he is different don't we in many ways.

Gordon is still not old for a goalie plus he had  a few years out.

He is still a damn sight better than the two bomb scares we have in our squad.

Pretty sure Berra Souttar and Halkett would prefer to have Gordon behind them next season.

From what I am hearing is keen to come back and finish his career with Hearts.

Bazzas right boot

Bain is shite.

Folk saying, nope Hearts fans saying he is better than Gordon need slapped.

Bain has ****ed up twice v us as well. Two clangers iirc.

Gordon with a hand behind his back is better than Bain.

Gordon isn't as good as he was but still the best or 2nd best in the league.

Celtic probably see Gordon as expensive to keep and not as good as he once was.

Basically not justifying what they pay him.

But that doesn’t mean he’s finished or not good enough. They’ve went with a cheaper goalie 9 years his junior and simply given Bain a chance. They’ll probably be looking for a keeper in all honesty.

Gordon is at that stage it’s time to accept where he is and if he wants to play on for a few years yet, he needs to be realistic with wage demands and who he can play for.

People were up for McGregor to join us way back when.

Him, Lewis & Gordon, are infinitesimally better than any other keeper in the league. The former two are a non-starter.

Aye, I'd rather see Gordon go to Motherwell rather than us though.?

Double whammy for us if Lennon stays on as manager or has he agreed a new deal ?

Firstly he is a shit manager and secondly a better chance of Gordon coming back to us although he apparently wants to anyway.

Craig Gordon has made a shed load of money out of football so don't think that is a huge issue with him.

Remember his last contract with us as a young guy was for 18 grand a week courtesy of Vlad.

That ensured we got 9 million quid for him when he went to Sunderland.

Notice Lustig left today. Horrible prick.

Aye turned right into a typical Glasgow ned over the years.

Bit surprised he has left though.

He had no wages coming in for over 2 years so depends how much of a dent that put in his money and how sensible he's been.

Agree with that statement. Celtic gave him a new contract to reward him for not going to Chelsea. Probably on anything between 20-40k p/w. Either sit on his arse and get paid loads of money or come back to Edinburgh and play 40 games a season for the next few years.

My understanding is Craig Gordon is on £20k a week at Celtic, can't see him walking away from that and Celtic do not strike me as a team to willingly agree to a pay off despite the massive value they have had from him. Suspect he sees the year out as cover.
