Remember thinking me and my mates were the mutts nuts wearing those, we bought them on a school trip to Germany so we were about a year ahead of them being worn by everyone else!

I had this at high school. Was really after the black version, but don't think it was sold in UK.

Ever go into the shop in Rose St? Think it was an Indian boy that had it, Gary maybe? He had a lot of good gear. Small shop with a few steps up to it.

I thought these made me a proper mod, not a plastic one. Now I know it was the opposite.

I moved a way from mod into psychedelia and got one of these tunics after seeing a guy wearing one in the films Blow Up and  Crossplot  (2 60s films).

But then an unbelievably cute indie chick let me squeeze her boobies on the stairs at EVOL before it became the Liquid Rooms.

Worth it.

Not convinced your Liquid Room history is accurate here, unless it was called Evol before my time. Evol for me was a Friday night even at Liquid Room.

I agree it is, it was just flirting with another 60s genre at the time. I was quite 60s obsessed in my youth but I've got back into mod again. More so than I was around 38 years ago. I reckon there are more clothes retailers selling the gear now and more events to go to than during the revival years. Once a mod always a mod.

To be fair to those hi tec if you swapped the white bit for 3 stripes you'd have a pair of adidas of the time. Roms or some shit
