And, it’s still there to this very day.

Mentioned this before on a previous thread and we didn’t find it, but still trying to find a jacket that everyone was wearing around about 1984/5. It was always a two tone thing, there was a light blue and darker blue etc. It didn’t really have a collar as such, just folded over, more like a bloody padded dressing gown?

Yep, I had one, dark blue outside and a grey inside collar, from Bonnyrigg Market!

The school back of choice was, I think, a "Phoenix" pretty much the same design as the Ruconer(?) one, I had the grey with maroon trim one.

Anyone wear Coaster slip ons with sasparilla shit catchers? worn with the said blue/grey duvet coat!!!

Was it quilted?

Sort of like some of these collarless ones made by Barbour?

That sounds like it, can’t find a picture of it. I had a light blue and grey one.

Spoiler

I waited until I was 18. Went to get rid of it in a mid life crisis when I turned 50 but everyone I know told me not to be daft and just keep it.

I remember them. Would they have been worn with jeans with elasticated bottoms,  a snow flake pattern jumper and pod sandals or some other round toe slip on thing? :nojustno:

There was phase in the 80’s of tucking things into your trousers/jeans I went out with cardigan, shirt and tie tucked in but my mate took it a step further and tucked his suit jacket in ? after seeing that I never tucked anything in again

It's a feckin beauty and you can can feck off if you think it's unmanly.

Oh dear jonno, just went down in my estimations. Got a mate who wore clogs. Will never forget us all going along Watson crescent when someone shouted run, last one to the Golden Rule is on the bar...clogs:facepalm::4_1_72:

Well I for one am disappointed. The way you lot go on you'd have thought you were born in the bin cupboard of the Gorgie Banana Flats.

Turns out you're all feckin' Morningside and the Braids!

It's even worse when the stripper picks you out from the crowd, takes off yer clogs and yer big toe is poking through a hole in yer sock.
