leginten
Mac Rebennack has left the building. I loved his music. Last saw him at the Queen’s Hall about five years ago. He was only 77 but had looked about 90 since the 1970s.

Watt-Zeefuik
I'm incredibly sad about this. He was one of a kind. One particularly happy thing recently has been that my toddler has gotten hooked on the Curious George animated TV show. And Dr. John provided the theme song for it. Heard it tonight watching it with her for the first time since he passed.
TheBigO
Oh no. Legend. Absolute legend. Dr John's Gumbo a staple in my house Wee coincidence, I literally 10 seconds ago posted about a New Orleans Po'boy on another thread. Anyone who likes Mac, I recommend seeking out the series Treme

I was just in the middle of Mos’ Scocious, an anthology Rhino put out in the 90s. Absolutely brilliant. Have also been listening to Locked Down, his last studio album from about five years ago. Great appreciation of the man below. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/jun/07/dr-john-tribute
