USA game. Saying there is equal funding for men's and women's sport in colleges.

Yup, that's due to Title IX Legislation.

Not looking great for Thailand. 7-0 down with 30 minutes to go. And the Yanks not easing off. I expect double figures.

Doesn’t matter what level you’re at, those USA celebrations are over the top when you’re dishing out this kind of hammering.

That was like a pool match in the Rugby World Cup, All Blacks vs someone wee. That's a feature of tournaments (any tournament, in any sport) with a high number of finalists, drawn from a pool of entrants with relatively few quality sides.

Still, the US didn't let up and were very professional. Hopefully they'll give England a sound thrashing at some point.

Shambolic. Laughable to have 2 teams in the same tournament that far apart in terms of quality.

Better finishing and Belgium wouldn't have been far off double figures tonight ??

Hearts men v Cowdenbeath men? 10-0

Celtic men v Aberdeen men 9-0

Man City v Huddersfield men 11-1

Shambolic. Laughable.

The thing about football is that sometimes a team gets pumped by another team.

Always going to happen in a developing sport. I’m sure even Scotland handed out a few thrashing back in the early days of men’s football.

Personally i I felt the USA should have taken their foot off the pedal at 9.

Some were saying Hearts were unprofessional taking ten off Cowdenbeath. I wonder if the USA will get similar press now.

I thought the cruellest part was them adding on 3 minutes injury time ??. But aye there were plenty skelpings similar to this when the men's World Cup expanded.

Bazzas right boot

Was just thinking that most of the games have been far closer than last time.

You think Thailand would have had a "physical" advantage as well, like being taller and running faster.... ?

It was Selkirk on the receiving end.

I think they would have been annoyed at themselves at half time. So didn't let up second half.

I think the one that's really relevant from a Scottish point of view is Yugoslavia 9 Zaire 0.

I hope that arrogant US women's team get pumped silly soon, if you know what I mean... fnar fnar.

At this level they look strong and potential winners. However don't put them up against a Texas High School boys team.

The coach was quite right in saying it's not her job to rein them in when they are playing in a competition where goal difference matters. If anyone is to blame its the organisers for having teams of such differing ability in the same competition

Perhaps some contributors should look at a few of the defeats suffered by Fort William FC in the past few years if they think this sort of result is unique to the women’s game....

The Thai keeper was about 4ft, even shots that went right at her went in and she didn't even dive for most of them  it was basically like playing with nobody in nets.

Fair enough, but the synchronised dancing on the touchline by the subs was out of order imo
