I remember one of his first games, killie away? Where he scored I think was his first of 8 goals in 8 games, I wasn’t there but I listened on the radio, remember reading the ratings in the paper and it was something like

“skacel 8, looks like a good addition” ?

dont think ill I’ll ever see a player like him, the man is adored here and rightly so. I love him.

That was his/our 1st league game.  Loved that whole season, despite the off-field shenanigans.

I was thinking it would be nice if the club arranged something to mark Rudi's retirement and for the contribution he made at Hearts. I don't know what form this would take but maybe a match to allow as many fans as possible to show their appreciation.

I still get Skacel 19 on the back of my Hearts shirts every season.

I think I always will

Article in today's EEN.

Gary Mackay like many ex-footballers probably has the benefit of a ghostwriter.  Whether that's the case or not, his article today on RS seems to come straight from the heart.  A great tribute!

I wonder how many family pets, even children, go by the name of Rudi in Edinburgh. Always a sign of legendary status.

Our cat is called Maulary.

I take it your cats a lazy waste of space.

Let's hope Rudi is the springboard to the next Hearts legends.  They will come.  We've had them for 145 years and they won't stop now.

Could be Hickey, could be Naismith.  Possible someone we've never heard of yet.

Rudi is one of our legends.  We all know who the others are and we'll never forget them.

Hope we see him as his family return to Edinburgh regularly.

Daily Ragord with their article on Rudi saying he won 2 cups with Hearts and scored in the pen shoot out with Gretna!!!

Eh Hello,  he actually scored in that game in the 90 mins.

Not to mention two in the 2012 final against Hibs and in the semi against Celtic.

Absolute arse wipe of a newspaper.

He is.

He's not really called Maulary, though.

Mind you, he does cost a lot, gives nothing in return and has been with us for over 2 years. :)
