I wonder how much Sammon has cost us for zero return.

Less than Mr. Martin....

At least the fish went/stayed on loan.

Does anyone know who scouted Sammon? I'd like them to come and watch me play football. I try very hard but am not good enough for Hearts and am happy to be paid not to play.

Kind of laugh that we announce that Hughes has been called up by Northern Ireland then 10mins later state he's being released. ?

Always went when he was called up but couldn't play for his club at these times because of injury. ?

Did he not get a pen against Raith in the cup replay too?

I wish all them the best. I have nothing against any of them and Hughes has had an outstanding career. But not one of them weakens is by leaving.

Outstanding career before joining us.

Can se Brandon or Godinho leaving. My bet would be Brandon.

Agreed, think they both have to step up. They’re both 21, Godinho 22 this summer. Hickey has come in and looked a much more complete player aged 16. Who is the youth right back?

Both players now the age that Paterson was when he got his move to Cardiff. Be surprised if either makes it at Hearts now, especially with Michael Smith being one of the first names

on the team sheet.

What a terrible signing Sammon was. Utter guff.

Hughes should have been punted at the end of last season.

There has been a lot of money wasted.

Hopefully Martin to follow. Would like us to punt Wighton too but can’t see it happening.

Martin, I expect, will milk every last centime out of Hearts and stay until the very last minute of his contract.

I'd be surprised if Partick Thistle were paying much towards his wages.

And who could blame him. We were stupid enough to sign him on the money he is on and less he is going to get the same or similar from someone else (which clearly he isn''t) then why wouldnt he stay. He isn't going to turn money down is he.

Don't blame him to be honest, any of us would do the same.

However I do blame the clowns that signed him on such a long deal...

Reeks of a scouting mistake imo.

Really can't blame Martin here, the blame lies solely at the feet of those who signed him in the first place never mind the ridiculous length of contract. Same goes for Sammon, Oshaniwa etc...

Edit: BangkokHearts beat me to it above.

Still cost us wages wise.

Hope vanecek gets a chance and is a worthwhile signing and not another sammon.

Pleased all have left. Hughes used us as a retirement home. Was often fit for his country and not for us but I’m kind of glad considering he was absolutely beyond awful on the park for us.

Robbie almost deserved sacking just for Sammon alone.

An utterly horrific signing.

Up there with Willie Jamieson and Husref Musemic.

Unfair on Hughes, he has stepped in when needed and done reasonably well, bar a few shocking games

Has had a fantastic long career and would have not been a high wage so see no problem he was signed

How Sammon got a contract bewilders me, I have no access to stats, wyscout or any of the tools but I could see from fleeting moments across 4/5 years that he is an absolute huddy, who scored a couple of goals each season yet Neilson saw fit to give him a 3 year deal ?

I'll never forget Sammon during the game against that Maltese bunch (Birkirkara?).

I reckon that's what I would've played like if they'd plucked me out of the crowd and put me up front! Remember him having acres of space to bury a header, only to tamely knock it straight into the keeper's arms.

Mitchell would have been really useful this season. Would happily have him back again.

Possibly however that may have hampered the development of Mulraney who has improved greatly since getting regular football.

Correct. He'll probably be earning about £12k a month for doing nothing.

Why would he want to move on?!
