I’d like Cochrane to take his place.

he can shoot.

Cochrane has scored once for us in 30 appearances. (1 per 30)

Djoum has scored 16 goals for us in 132 games.  (1 per 8.25)

Given your near 27,500 posts under various different guises doubt that very much!

Will you be cheering Hibs on in the cup again next season? That post alone shows how much of a twat you are ??????

EEN saying Cypriot "giants" want him. Is that how far we've fallen when Cyprus are considered giants. Or just crap reporting.

I'd guess this is a reference to APOEL. Relative giants, you might say, and they made it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League not all that long ago after all.

To be fair we weren't able to compete when Cypriot giants signed Bruno Aguiar and Christos Karipidis ten years ago either

£9k p/w. Nah, **** off.

Y'know who gets £9k p/w? Someone like Naismith, and at a club our size, we're lucky to afford one of those players at an absolute push. Does Djoum think he is a more influential player than Naismith? Does he think he offers leadership, drive and tenacity? Sorry Arnaud, you're delusional mate.

If he wants to stay, great. But theres pushing the boat out and then there is trying to canoe across the Atlantic. Utter lunatic.

Is it not more likely that some stupid club has offered him that and he's simply told us that we need to match it to keep him?

That doesn't make him delusional or deserving of the vitriol.

Two points

It was % not number count so 10 posts or 27500 it's irrelevant.

Never cheered on hibs, you are lieing.

Your % of shite just increased again.

I understand how percentages work. Given you talk utter bollocks half the time, and that’s being generous! And God’s knows you’ve been told that often enough, by a number of different posters, maybe you need to lay of the keyboard for a wee bit.

Did you say you wanted Hibs to win the Scottish Cup?

For me, Saturday summed up his game. Very tidy player, composed and has a good touch but not effective enough in critical phases of the game. Rarely contributes with critical passes or decent shots in the final third of the pitch and not effective enough at reading the game or tackling to be a defensive midfielder.  Call me cynical but his best form for Hearts has come when his contract has been running down. If he was a lower earner then I'd be happy to keep him but given his wage demands then I believe its worth player a younger player or spending the cash elsewhere.

No, I said I prefer rangers to get beat.

I'd take a broken arm over a broken leg, but wouldn't want one over the other or cheer when I have broken my arm.

Either way, there was no cheering. ?

Pm me if you want as this is increasing both our shite % or if you want to talk about hibs winning the cup the week after we got beat in a final go on party planners, you'll get more willing conversation partners.

Nope, it was Apollon Limassol that are in for him and they have only ever played 1 Champions League qualifier and got knocked out by Cork City.

They are not giants by any stretch of that description.

Yes, Saturday summed up his game quite well. Involved in the goal (and much else).

Maybe why Aberdeen were interested though eh. Or why he is a regular in the reigning African Champions side. But you know best

Aberdeen were interested in Connor Sammon. No accounting for taste eh ?

My request was fairly simple. Give me a bit evidence that shows Djoums value to Hearts, particularly given the money he is rumoured to want, and I’ll consider it.

To me he is a half decent midfileder. He hasn’t got the drive going forward we need, the killer pass, nor creativity. He doesn’t even hit a particularly good dead ball. What he can do is easily disappear out of games, that’s if he has even bothered to turn up! And in my opinion he has failed to turn up too often.

Now if Djoum is the player you think he is why aren’t there a queue of far better clubs than us lining up for him? All he talked about since he arrived was wanting to step up to the next level. Are Aberdeen the next level? Or some Cypriot team? He’ll get a new club, or course he will, he is a free agent, and that also tells you something. If Djoum is so good how come no bids, or interest, was reported whilst he was under contract?

Let’s not let the fact that we’ve had lots of below average midfielders disguise what Djoum is. He is a half decent midfield player and he is is certainly not worth us pushing the boat out for financially.

We don't have those financial details. I'm comfortable we wont offer him a deal if those details are unacceptable.

You seem to be desperate to prove a point, but are reluctant to supply the facts yourself.

Scottish football clubs of our ilk will struggle to recruit international midfielders. I still recommend anyone including yourself to watch Djoum and nothing else in a game. He is literally everywhere the ball goes, his tactical awareness definitely sails under the radar.

The only qualm I have, do we need a Haring and a Djoum, perhaps not. Other than the horrific injury with the Achilles, Djoum has put a lot in for Hearts. His true value, may only be missed when he is gone.

Producing what?

I’m not desperate to prove a point. This debate came about because I posted saying I wouldn’t be bothered if he lines up against us and you laughed at that. Given that I asked you to provide me with something to suggest why I should be bothered and I’d consider it. I think I’m still waiting on that.

For the avoidance of doubt I will not be bothered seeing Djoums name on a teamsheet against us. He is not our best player - and for the reasons I stated in my recent post - and it will be highly likely he won’t even be the best player for the team he’s in. He’s a half decent midfielder, no more.

As for his value to Hearts only being missed when he’s gone. Given I don’t think he provides value while he here I doubt I’ll miss it when he’s gone! You can’t miss what you’ve never had.

Opinions and arseholes eh, everybody’s got one.

He is one of our best players. What do you think his role is in the team? He is not a number 10 (don't like that terminology) he is not a wide player. He is not a playmaker. His role is to get the ball back, retain possession and provide us with a solid platform, he does that week in week out. Put him next to a proper ball player and you get results.

He consistently dominated John McGinn, like it or not, McGinn has been frequently quoted as the best buy in Britain this season beyond the Premier.

His job is to dominate other midfielders, he helped contain a very good Celtic midfield expertly. He does this week in week out, the lack of a quality midfielder next to him that will compliment him, is more of a problem

Nothing to do with the position they play.  All about the quality that 9K would get you.

For £9k a week, I'd say no.

When Mcormiack (sp) from villa is getting £70k a week it really puts things into perspective.

That doesn't make him delusional or deserving of the vitriol.

If he can actually get that money, I'd urge him to go and get it. For anyone to be offering him £9k p/w is utterly insane.

To my, its key player wages, and he's far from key player material. Its absolutely true the work he does goes unappreciated but its a ridiculous wage to even attempt to match. I don't feel like his performances over the last couple of seasons warrant any sort of serious wage increase either.

The vitriol is more directed at the idea we might be considering trying to negotiate with him on those terms. Our offer should be pretty much the same terms again. Although tbh we'd be far better thanking him for his work and moving him on. We'll find someone younger and hungrier without too much effort.

Do these people get out much or have any understanding remotely close to our set up and wage bill since Admin????

Even the chat of saying we would consider paying AD half of that ??????

Bizarre.... ??
