Mutant scores, but I’d say a goalkeeper howler.

game over now

Dangerous thing to say given some of the things that have happened in games over recent weeks.

Looking forward to seeing 'the best Scottish midfielder in recent history' make an absolute arse of it in the Epl next season.

Falling on your arse everytime you get touched won't cut it in that league.

Must be some maroon tint on those glasses you’re wearing? McGinn is a brilliant player.

English Championship is so over rated. Average teams full of players who cannot control a ball and take an age to make a pass.

McGinn looks good simply because he charges about and tries hard while he and Grealish spend most of time falling over and waiving their arms about.

Waghorn now on and he was utter pish when playing up here, so standard is nothing special.

He spends 80 minutes per game on the floor.

Game on as they say.

Derby by so much better when they are direct, and Villa don't like defending.

Done well to be voted Villa’s player of the season in that case!

I just don't get the seethe about a Scottish player playing for Aston Villa. Who cares what club he used to play for?? I certainly don't think he is great but if he turns out to be a superstar for Scotland good luck to him

McGinn and Grealish must spend more time lying on their backs than most prostitutes. Anytime someone goes near them or tries a tackle, the pair of them throw the, selves onto the floor whilst looking at the referee.

They're the most cynical team going

The officials in that game almost managed the impossible by being more out of touch and useless than their Scottish counterparts. Failed to spot play acting from first minute to last, allowed Villa to make most of his decisions for him and then watched as about half of injury time was wasted by keeper just standing holding ball.

That said, Derby chucked it away with insipid first 70 minutes and a goalkeeper who must have won a raffle to get a game. Lampard not the genius he is made out to be.

Tremendous sportsmanship on the field at the end.  Just what you expect from humans.

Thank god Mcginn never ended up at Celtic.  Let him be an example of what you can do when you head down South.  That young man will earn a fortune now and play against the elite instead of being a rodent Brown.  Let’s hope our young guys aspire to similar and earn us a pretty penny.

2 more English managers in Premier League. It is said it's virtually the only way to get there now for English coaches.

Though might be different for Frank Lampard.

Yep. Shame its not a Hearts player because that would be a good motivator for when the uglies come a sniffing.

Seeing players like Robertson, Fraser and McGinn that had the balls to go and test themselves is fantastic. Hopefully we see more of that, because I don't think its much of a surprise we've qualified for **** all when we've had to rely on cowards like Brown preferring to be the big fish in the little pond, rather than testing themselves at the highest level.

Definitely.  When you see the route the usual arseholes take it’s very refreshing. McGinn is not Hibs anymore he’s Scotland’s gain Celtics loss and him and like you said Ryan Fraser and Robertson are great examples of why not to go west and why the national side have been shite. Clarke won’t pick Celtic or huns because they play for them either.  We have a great future of the trend continues both club and internationally. I also missed out Patterson who could have easily have went to West.  There is hopefully a new attitude instead of the players going to guys from us who play for the old firm to go there they look up at the Prem players and make that their ambition instead.

Wolves last year and Aston Villa both got promoted while overspending at least £1 million a week. These losses are okay because rules and funding in Premier League are different.

Derby's over spending is similar. Next year crucial for them.

John McGinn did what Scott Brown was frightened to do test himself in a top league Kieran Tierney should do the same if he has any ambition

McGinn was tremendous today. As he has been for the bulk of the season. Seen a lot of comments about him being on the deck a lot, its savvy in my opinion. If you feel someone coming from behind you, stick your arse out, take the hit and get the foul simple. Referees will give it 99% of the time.

Grealish also a step above, I'd be surprised if he left Villa now.

With regards to Souttar's link to Derby, there's rumours about FL leaving Derby now for the Chelsea gig with Sarri apparently getting the Juve job. Whether he's a player Lampard likes or a DoF likes I'm not sure. Hoping its the former.

So, Souttar to Chelsea for £10 Million.

Seems a decent shout.

The point I was making is that I'm hoping he's a player likes for Derby. Obviously if Lampard went to Chelsea they'd be looking in a different price and class bracket. At the moment they can't sign any players anyway due to the embargo they're under. Or at least until they appeal it...

Top post. Another player that stalled hus development for the West coast coin is Lee Wallace. He went backwards with that move. Had he done another season with us he could have ended up at a higher level down South.

Lee Wallace is the biggest disappointment of them all come development and prospect level. He had it all, was better than Patterson at a similar age and took the blue ££.  He must live with healthy regrets professionally.

Just to add to that regarding your reference to Brown, after celebrating with his team mates, the commentator said he went round commiserating with every single Derby player.

Brown should have made a beeline for Berra and given him a wee hug and a few words of consolation.  No chance though.  He hasn't forgotten the 4-0 thrashing and having the piss taken out of him by Harry.

Rodent is a very apt word.

Delighted, as a Villa fan its nice to be back in the big league.

As for McGinn and Grealish they do what every player does these days with any contact.

10wins in a row since March to go from 13th to the playoffs and up is some achievement.

?? Up the Villa.
