McGeouch is permanently injured and Morgan is no great shakes.

“The Sunderland keeper has had little to do over the 2 legs, think he’s made 3 saves” commentator with 15 minutes to go. “Let’s go pitch side with Jon McLaughlin who was immense tonight” same commentator at full time. That’s what 100’s of million’s of sky money gets you. The ability for the English and sky to polish a turd is incredible. An awful game of football over two legs dressed up to be one of the most nerve racking, exciting game of football the world has ever seen.

Almost looked like Pompey don't want to go up. Terrible game and their fans not up for it either, the crowd was lower than their league average apparently.

Probably not included in their season tickets.

Nephews cash out is now at £1k ? potential £8.7k return, saying he’s cashing out if/when Bayern win their league.

What’s the bet? Assume so many teams to get promoted/win the league

That incident with the fans/player has been the highlight of the game

He had Celtic to win the league and league cup, Barca, PSG, Juventus, to win their leagues, waiting on Bayern to win their league, Derby and Sunderland to get promoted and Chelsea to win Europa league. Stuck a tenner on at start of season, he’s shitting it now and going to cash out when Bayern win the league, can understand that but I wouldn’t be cashing out ??‍♂️

People might look at Leeds and fair enough.

But other clubs way under performed. Tony Pulis has left Middlesbrough one of the big favourites for promotion who didn't even get into Play Offs.

Didn't know that.

That's a classic example of a club tolerating a style of football as long as it gets results because, once the results tail off you simply do not have a leg to stand on.

Yes

And look at Derby for example. All out attack won them that game.

Norwich, Sheffield United, Leeds - all very attack minded sides and with squads way less expensive than Middlesbrough's.

Correct. It is the way the game is played now.

Calebs Grandad

Aston Villa, Derby, Sunderland, Newport and Tranmere have all qualified for their respective finals with only Charlton v Doncaster to play. All 5 were playing away in the second leg. Doncaster away tonight and 4/1 to qualify ?

Big Jon’s a grand keeper.

Miss him.

Yeah, it was a pity he didn't hang around even for one more season to repay the club for getting his career back on track.

He came to us as a nobody shuffling around as a back up in the lower leagues and left a full international

He was burtons first choice keeper for 3 years before he signed for us, including a year in the championship. Before that he was Bradfords first choice keeper for 4 years.

Good post apart from that.

Should be a good final between Charlton & Sunderland, maybe not to the extent of the epic 4-4 from 98

Just catching up after work.

Delighted for Charlton. Saw the OG earlier so he'll be relieved.

Thought Sunderland blew it late season. Maybe too many players from Scotland by their Scottish manager. Might change it now.

Sunderland just never seemed convincing the whole season. They hung in there but just didn't look like a team who would win in the automatic places or in a play off.

Not sure what the odds were in that league at the start of the season but Sunderland finishing 5th and losing in the play offs is a genuine failure for them at that level.

Sunderland's player values are more than double that of any other team in that league https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-one/startseite/wettbewerb/GB3

If they keep Jack Ross he has to learn. When I see his teams I see a lot of players who don't convince as the guys to get it over the line in that league.

His new players squad is similar to what Robbie Neilson did at MK Dons.

But to be fair it is tough. So Jack Ross can learn and get some other guys in.

Derby are an interesting side. They are pretty ordinary but when they get their attacking play going full on they can give  anyone a game.

Villa are strong favourites though. Just these games do strange things.

Dislike Terry more than Lampard so for that reason, and the McGinn factor, I hope Derby win.

Villa are too big a club to be out the big league though.

Just said McGinn has 60 members of his family at the game. Just get an image of a field packed with scabby caravans near Wembley. ?

Bazzas right boot

Hope villa get promoted just for the fact it means Kent will 100% go to them.

Villa also were mediocre mid table even with Tammy Abraham's goals until Jack Grealish came back from injury.

Random trivia re Aston Villa’s Tuanzebe.  Apparently he holds the Guinness world record for clearing a game of Hungry Hippos ???.

Looking forward to seeing 'the best Scottish midfielder in recent history' make an absolute arse of it in the Epl next season.

Falling on your arse everytime you get touched won't cut it in that league.
