McIness been after him for years, they will need someone on the wing to fire crosses to Cosgrove and Main.

Hopefully Ash Taylor goes back.  Awful player.

Been a regular starter for Colorado so be interesting to see if he does actually move. Would’ve thought if he was to come back to Scotland he’d come back to us. Will be a good addition to the Aberdeen squad. Exactly the type of player we should be looking at but exactly the type of player Levein won’t look at

Easy far better than Clare ( maybe Clare is more talented but the guy mostly hides ) and would give a lot more effort as well.

he's more experienced now than he was when he left, id think he is a better all round player. Would take back definitely

Yip. Easier to slag the home grown Scottish boy tho. Same goes with walker, yeah his attitude was bad and he acted like a goat but you can’t argue he wouldn’t improve what we have.

How we could do with a midfielder hitting double figures now.Walker Nicholson and Uche with Naismith in behind.

If he goes to Aberdeen GMS might see a better future elsewhere - like Tynecastle.

Should never have let it get to the stage where he left or wanted to leave. A good player and was only a young lad. I’d take him back no bother.

Good luck to him.

Always liked him, actually. Came off the bench a few times and won games for us, decent shot taker, bulked up a lot after the relegation season. If he's added experience and composure to his game, I'd take him back in a shot.

We should go for him if he's coming back to Scotland.  Offers far more end product than the likes of Mulraney.

Far too positive and exciting a player for Levein.

Some interesting comments on Levein and Nicholson, but yet he persevered and was criticised over playing Morrison, and now he plays Mulraney every week.

I don't mind criticism, but when it is clearly pish, it becomes an irritant.

I'm wondering if people that post on here actually watch Hearts.

Nicholson is streets ahead of any wide player currently at the club.

Unfair on Mulraney

Has come on leaps and bounds since he first started

His pace itself is an asset and folk are quick to forget that

If Aberdeen are looking for someone to cross the ball into forwards I don’t think Sam is the man for that. Would rather cut inside. Walker was the same. Can’t remember the last winger we had who did that.

Agree better than what we currently have although Mulraney is coming on.

As opposed to the no trick ponies that inhabit our squad at the moment.

Would love Sam back. Think people underestimate how difficult a time that was for the kids at the club so the ones who made a career out of it deserve great respect as they were exactly nurtured at crucial points in their development.

Bags of ability, good work rate, bit of experience, connection with fans. No brainer for me if wants home.

Takes some pressure off Mcdonald and Morrison allowing them to play big but lower pressure parts.

I remember the Thistle away game, just three days after the Cup Replay debacle at Easter Rd( the 1-3 one ! ), and he looked exasperated ! Was really trying but the team was as flat as a witch’s tit and boy couldn’t do any more. Was the only one who applauded the support at the end while Cathro and the rest trudged off.

A small detail, and he had his faults, but left a mark on me when the team were in free-fall.

Interesting to see how he fares if he does go to the sheep. Would have him back here no problem.

Tend to agree, but still average to poor at best

Would take Nicholson over Mulraney every time, but we could easily get better over both of them

Without going off on a tangent, Mulraney has really turned things around for me. He is one of the most important players for us if we want to beat Celtic in the final. Never thought I'd say this 6 months ago.

Back on topic, if Nicholson has progressed then yes I would take him back here. However in his position, like many other players, Mulraney included, is the hardest place to stay consistent. This always splits fans opinion. Its very rare u find a winger who can beat players and deliver crosses on a consistent level. Especially in the SPFL. Neil McCann was the last I can remember at us. Players like Nicholson are 10 a penny so unless he has progressed I don't see why we would want him. Give a youngster a chance or try different avenues next year.

I had completely forgot about Holt, had a search and seen he was on loan at Fleetwood this season before getting injured. Played 30 odd games there too, anyone know how he got on?

Exactly. Mind you our budget was stretched in paying higher salaries to Martin and Sammon.

Wasn't meant as a dig at Mulraney tbh, I like him. As you say he's improved a lot.  My point was he's pretty much our first choice wide player and Nicholson would offer more at this point.

King prawn

Started 2 games for Colorado this season and has been on the losing side in every game he’s had a part in.

Not his fault I know but I reckon he’s gone backwards since leaving us.
