Wasn’t the offensive song the OMD version, especially the second last line that went,

‘He hates the IRA, he’s Kyle Lafferty’

not sure being 7ft playing a tin whistle really offended anyone, certainly not me anyway.

Offending a murdering terror group? ?

Picture your face if Hearts signed someone like James McLean.

I think I share the views of the majority of the country when it comes to him. Poor comparison.

Not really, they are two sides of the one coin. But it's only songs. ?

You'll need to show me some examples of Kyle Lafferty whipping up the kind of media storm that McClean does every year in November.

My point is valid. They're both the same, one green , one orange. You're biased to the latter. That's why you're not offended.

I'll stick to watching Hearts, a Scottish club. But I'll leave ma Saltire and politics in the hoose.

I don't think Kyle Lafferty is bigoted in the slightest, I would be interested to see anything that says otherwise

Why do NI people want to play for either Rangers and Celtic?

Aren’t you the same chap who claims that your love and pride in all things Scottish doesn’t mean you hate England? Try applying that logic here and you probably have your answer.

Andy Webster did Hearts over more than what Lafferty did which the Webster ruling. He came back and made an impact. I really can’t understand why fans wouldn’t want a tried and tested goal scorer just because some fans sing a song which incorporates flutes. If anyone scores 20 goals a season I’d be happy for any song to be sung about them.

Indeed, McClean has far more agreeable political opinions.

I wouldn't know Lafferty's political opinions because he's not one for ramming them down peoples throats like the repugnant McClean.

People who don't like repugnant catholic politics rammed down their throats shouldn't invade and occupy Ireland.  And then celebrate it every year while trying to take the moral high ground about wearing a poppy.

Is there a sikh/hindu forum I need to join too because I don't agree with the British occupation of India?

If it makes you feel better the south of Ireland is a repugnant political cesspit and full of stupid religion too.  Perhaps the worst thing about the occupation is that without it all of Ireland could've all been a showcase of Catholic hatred for condoms, abortions, actual teachers in the schools, etc.

WageThief makes considered and educated points about various historical issues in a reasonable manner where he points out there has been fault on both sides - and gets slaughtered/ridiculed on here.

Increasingly and typically blinkered thoughtless comments being made by Hearts fans.

I play the harmonica and only 5ft 10, that song is really offensive.

I play the bass and I’m 5’8 and a half.

They won’t let me play in Edinburgh

(n.b This could also be because I’m not very good)

Never heard that one SJ

Ive said before I just don’t get the whole sectarian thing, possibly because it doesn’t really exist in Wales where I grew up but that particular song always just seemed to be a chuckle to me

No chance he’d be scoring any where near that for us. If he’s not getting near the Rangers team then why should we take their scraps?

I remember we picked up a goalie from them a few years back who wasn't getting much game time and don't think I have seen a better keeper in the flesh. He's Finnished now mind you

This!

Say what you want about him but Lafferty would score goals for us as he did last season.

Him and Uche up front with Naismith supporting would be handful for any defence in Scotland.

Yeah, let's knock back 19 goals a season to avoid hearing a daft song.

I'd wager 'yerhavina' Lafferty wouldn't bag double figures for goals if (heaven forbid) he ever returned to Tynie in a maroon shirt!   So, yeah I'd knock back 12 league goals and a couple of aerial battles won, zero assists and a poor attitude against every team in the league bar smeltic and to a lesser extent hubz.  He showed his true colours when he went scurrying back to the bowler hat wearing arse cheek...let him rot there as far as I'm concerned.

Turned it on for us to get a move to Ibrox and they don't want him so how hard will he try this time if he came back to us.

Not worth the risk and wages.
