Beauty!

Got the 86 home from them a couple of years ago and I love it.

Have you managed to compare it to the current reproduction to see if there are any obvious differences?

How are Aztec Retros for size?

I haven't but I would imagine that the Umbro repro will much closer to the original.  They have probably used the original measurements.

I found it to be true to size. I suppose the traditionalists and football shirt geeks will pick holes in it (Umbro and Mita logos being a bit on the large side) but for the money, Aztec are producing the best repro's out there.

Looks great.

To return a bit of nostalgia, would be great if we used the fonts from the 80s for the shirt numbers. The ones with the 'shadow' effect were superb.

I think they have that on sale in the shop without Mita on it.

I was down at Newcastle a few years back and they had all their classic retro strips on sale without the makers logo but had the various NBA logos.

Always loved a Torino strip. Used to wear them for kickabouts. Always amused me they were sponsored by beretta also. Sure I read they were going to he sponsoring them again too.

Their strips are usually dark

Maroon like ours and Bruno played for them too.

We shared a template with Bournemouth last year so this is likely what we are looking at for next season20190503_195638.thumb.jpg.dd263bd8a2733ba69273373bf36cc374.jpg

The Newcastle ones are genuine. The design of the orange one is meant to represent the roof of the stands. Pretty rank. Home one pretty garbage too.

Expecting to be chased off with pitchforks, but would like to see us experiment with a full maroon kit. Trial it for a season. Think it would look very distinct and imposing. Sadly, our record when we've played in full maroon has been one of 'limited success' :D

The Ajax inspired kit looked good, I think as an away kit it would work nicely.

Last years mock ups were first class, a poster had posted this and I really liked it. A truly unique looking design IMO.

If you find a throw away comment from a bloke on a football forum about an attractive blonde "bizarre" I would advise that you log off, lock your doors, pull the curtains down and block out the big bad world.

I assure you that no attractive blonde ladies were harmed in the making of my post.

I’d be disgusted if Hearts changed the badge to some sort of ‘modern logo’ like Juve have but not only that, completely changed their kit from traditional stripes.

Modern day football summed up in a football top.

Football moves with the times, there are very very few clubs out there who haven't changed their badge or kit at some point, I don't mind it.

Having said that, I'm still trying to get over our 90s badge change.

I suppose it is moving with the times in that there is an incessant thirst to fleece the public to purchase two new strips every year, which probably was not the case a generation ago.

Once you feel you need to change two kits every year it is inevitable that the marketing gurus will produce some efforts that fly in the face of tradition.

I think we're more precious about tradition now, it's something that football has always tested. We weren't producing two kits a season or influenced by marketing gurus in 1972 when we had this kit.

Genuinely cant stand the Ajax style kits. Would like to see us going for a white away kit with a diagonal maroon strip.
