The £1 million pitch!

Why did we waste a crazy amount of money on a playing surface to never use it?

Our opponents, most of whom actually try and play football, must love coming to Tynecastle.

That's a really daft question.

Ann has done an amazing job off the park,

We just need someone to match her on the park.

It’s not daft.  The pitch is excellent, but if our opponents use it to their advantage, but we don’t, then it is a pointless investment.

Please explain how it is daft?

We play hoofball on a bowling green, our opponents come and play us off the park.

We should be using it to our advantage though. That's the problem, not the pitch.

Blame the manager and his players, not the pitch.

Would you rather go another year with Craig Levein, but use a tatty field in the hope that we might get a few more wins?

Fair point.  Maybe it is more the case the investment is worth it, but it is just not compatible with lot current style of play.

Ah right, you may well be right lol

I just seen it in black and white.

Honestly thought the OP was saying that we shouldn't of wasted money on the new state of the art pitch!

Also why do we have to water the pitch so much ?

just asking for trouble with players slipping

No

we (before 2nd half) watered one side of the pitch- I can only presume to

give an advantage with Burns and Mulraney - didn’t much work - more because our front ball was non existent more than what they were doing (that said they obviously need I work at playing together)

You asked why they watered the pitch so much - they didn’t water the whole pitch.

There’s no need to water any of the pitch

I’ll maybe email and ask why

I thought our £1.0M pitch looked great today. Pity our players didn't live up to that standard.

But there’s no need to water it at half time

Everything in the football department, at every club, is temporary. Many more Hearts managers and players will be given a chance to impress on our investment.

We need to water this pitch so much because of how quick it can dry out due to the amount of sand. Not just is that do this same at Celtic Park and all the grounds in England.

The whole pitch was watered at halftime

It is ironic amongst all the claims of ‘nothing but hooofball’ that we lost the first two goals playing it out from the back on the deck.

It drains quickly. It was like 20C during the second half!

Hot weather means the grass gets thirsty.

Dont you get thirsty in the heat after a hard days skateboarding in tropical Hamilton dreaming of necking a refreshing can of Quatro

On the bright side,  every cloud and all that,  getting the rest it deserves and no Edinburgh Festival this year,  we can begin to play our fast flowing football once again  :whistling:

Not convinced its the right thing to do but it would bring in some much needed income.
