Thanks bud. Slowly getting there, but it's hard to watch.

Keep your chin up, all the best to you both.

Do you know how much they were charging to visit John Paul II tomb, think it was €7 back in 2014 (which I didn't do), I can remember the days when you got down in the crypt below the basilica for free, including John Paul II tomb, that was before they made him a saint though.

We paid 50 euros for a 3 hour tour which included head phones for everyone. We didn’t stand in line(easily 2 hours saved) included the Vatican museum, Sistine, Vatican and the crypt. Once the 3 hours were up you could do it all again alone for as long as you liked as you were already inside. We caught the changing of the Swiss guard too by luck.

i thought it was worth it. Guide was an American and everyone on the tour(20) spoke English.

The White Cockade

St Peter's is amazing

we were there last year and it's free entry and I don't think we paid anything to see the crypt either

it's huge and takes a good few hours to go round

Pantheon and Colosseum are fantastic too and many others around Rome

Edinburgh Castle ,the Scott Monument, Forth Road Bridge closer to home

Loads of places in Edinburgh really, Old Town and New Town

Would be a shame if we lost the Sheep Heid Inn as that's pretty special

Love the Sheep Heid Inn.

Easter Sunday tradition is to roll the eggs down Arthurs Seat then the Sheip Heid for a few pints before home for a slap-up family dinner.

Magic.

The queues can be horrendus at times and it always amazes me that despite the signs and warnings you still get folks inappropriately dressed wearing skimpy shorts and vest tops who have waited an hour ot two only to get turned away by security.

3 hour tour for €50 sounds like good value for money, as the Museum entry is €17 on it's own.

Yes the crypt is free, but if you want to see the tomb of John Paul II it cost €7 (in 2014).

Pantheon is my favorite place in Rome, although the last time I was there I had to queue to get in and once inside it was heaving, never had to do that before, every other time I'd been there it wasn't as busy as this, sometimes only a dozen or so people inside.

Meant to ask, when you were at the Vatican did you visit your family's monument in the Basilica and your casket in the crypt containing......... er...........um...........your bones, and that of your brother & father, sire.

Must be kinda cramped in there with the three of yous. ?
