Chris Cadden has been contacted

I never know whether to post items like this or not but here goes

It is not a signed and sealed deal it is simply contact with player/agent

(There are others interested as well and of course Motherwell want to keep him)

That’s what Hearts love giving contracts to players who have been out injured for years because we are experts in injuring our own players for lengthy periods. This way our management always have an excuse for poor results.

There you go now we can all see what is really going on at our club.?

Cruyff Turn

Leveins been after him for years. Good player and will improve us. We need a right mid. He’s had a bad injury but is still young and will improve. Hope we get him.

Hastie would cost too much, you're talking at least £400k in compensation, and if the rumours are to be believed, there are clubs with far more cash than us sniffing around.

So now Levein is to blame for a Motherwell player picking up an injury :rolleyes5:

This is apparently an article with quotes from Motherwell Chief Executive Alan Burrows. If true then Chris Cadden has signed a new deal with Motherwell.

Cadden will get injured, and so will Messi. We need back up for Messi, anyone got any suggestions? We might need 2 replacements for Messi,  just incase the first one picks up a wee knock, and is out for 4 to 9 months.

Good shout, but I think he's a bit injury prone.

Tommy Brown

What is the position with Cadden?

I assume he is free to sign where he likes, but a compensation fee will have to be paid?

Someone mentioned Hastie as £400k. Is this a transfer fee or compensation?

How is this worked out, what was Walker's fee?

Edit:

So many questions. I think I have moved to Hamilton. Apologies.

If you read the post a few up from your you will see that apparently Cadden has signed a new deal with Motherwell so if we are genuinely interested he would cost a fair bit of money now.

If he had signed a new deal, Motherwell would have announced it by now (not off handley mentioned it when talking about another player.)

You seem to blame Levein for everything from Brexit to climate change so I just assumed you'd pin this on him as well

I saw the article and my comment was about that.

Just had a look on Twitter and seen Burrows reply to someone asking him about this article which he clarified is about caddens previous contract.

Had a good trawl through their website, there is nothing to suggest he has signed an extension.

Climate change well i never knew that. I liked Craig as a player and as a man but as a manager with his so

called  Bootroom they just aren’t at the races.

Well if it is true he’s not giving much away, as you’d expect. When the first link was made a couple of years ago he was keen on the move so hopefully it happens.

Can you give the name of one manager who came from CL's so-called Bootroom?

Could be an interesting one for next season if it turns out to be true.

We've got the spine of a very good team, but we just need some players who pull us up another notch.  Cadden in midfield would be an excellent addition.

Need a right winger and he probably needs a fresh start somewhere else. Knows the league too. He was flattered to be linked to us 2 summers ago.

Maybe not at the races but they are in a cup final.   Even if they deliver a cup for us it won't be enough for some folk.

I mentioned the £400k in relation to hastie. That was the figure that burrows had stated as the compensation. I think that is also what is alluded to in the above tweet.

I'm going to make a real splash here later this morning when I alert the media that Levein is responsible for climate change.

I imagine there will be chaos at Tynecastle in around 16 hours with thousands of hairy green people hastily convening a protest March before the kick-off.

Expect delays.

Cadden would be a similar signing to Souttar.

A young player that has went a wee bit stale at his current club and needs a fresh start somewhere else, and hopefully we're that club because he has the potential to be a top class wide man.

So the lad’s had an injury.  There can’t be too many pro footballers who haven’t had an injury at some point.  Kind of the nature of the game.

Unless it's not been updated, Transfer Market has him contracted at Motherwell until 31st May 2019.

From what I’ve saw of Cadden he gives 100%, isn't scared to tackle, has tenacity and from what I remember has decent delivery.

Its always a risk going after a player who has had a long term injury. But Levein has had his eye on him for a while so must think it’s worth the gamble.

TBH if he’d stayed fit and on form we wouldn’t be anywhere close to be being able to sign him - just like Souttar.

Btw I see Aneke who someone on here linked us with came on and scored today.

Well fans I know said he was a great prospect, hit a plateau and has fallen behind other, younger talent that they have coming through. Sounded a bit ‘meh’ about possibility of him leaving. But as others have said he may just need a change of scenery. Wouldn’t mind an out and out right midfielder we seem to have been playing central midfielders out there for ages.
