Recommended Posts

Will be coming back for a wedding next week and need a kilt hire.

Anyone have any recommendation/prices. Preferably places that can give it out the same/next day.

And I can vouch for these guys as well as that's where we got our kilts for my brothers wedding.

jack D and coke

Yeah I’ve used them a few times in Musselburgh. Don’t go on a Saturday for a fitting though it can take hours if they’re busy.

There's something special about hiring a kilt.

No other garment in the world gives you that close connection with the previous hirers dirty arse and cheesy bellend

Dry cleaning chemicals sorts that out.

Indeed. Also just an excuse for cross dressing.

I'd avoid bowdens on Easter Road (if they're still there?)

Hired twice from them and they always want the kilt back the following day, which in many cases will mean a hungover trip to hand the kilt back.

Got my last one in Gala and they were in no great rush for the kilt back.

David at Bowdens is a really nice guy.  Hard worker who knows his stuff

I didn't say otherwise, he was knowledgeable and polite. The point I made was that the shop had a very tight turnaround time for handing the kilt back, presumably because they're so busy, whereas the other shop gave me a few days.
