If independence follows no deal brexit then that.

Otherwise revoke article 50...second EU referendum.

You really think so? They're going to lose a major partner in the Union and there is a strong possibility that due to our inability to organise a piss-up in a brewery, that exit could be under a no deal condition which would prove detrimental to EU trade and its economy. They haven't been laughing at us, they've probably been tearing their fecking hair out.

Revoke Art 50. Put the ball back in the Leave campaign court to make the case & make  them do what they studiously avoided in  the first place.  £350M per day for NHS,  Brexit dividend , cutting immigration - all of which have been proven to be utterly false. We're paying £60Billion to be worse off and have less say. Now we have Rees - Mogg saying UK should **** up the EU at any/all  votes - I  thought Leave said the UK didn't have any control over this anti democratic organisation but now the UK can apparently exert control/influence it didn't previously have. Amazing.

What are the real benefits of Brexit. Plain & simple.  Let "Leave" explain that to the 17.4.

Probably No deal as I am sick of these Eurocrats. No deal actually puts us in a stronger negotiating position as we've seen what these yellow jacket protesters can get up to, add in a bit of Brexit pain and they will cause even bigger trouble.

They are laughing at us, we havent the balls to stick it up them, might prove bad for the EU trade and economy , but also just might prove great for the UK ..................................... disclaimer as no one knows how this will turn out

I always assumed from the start it would be a no deal break away. Too many fingers in the pie to agree on anything so just start afresh.

It's a daft situation where our politicians have been trying to negotiate to keep everything they like and ditch what they don't. That's never going to fly.

All the focus is on what we might lose. No focus on what we can gain from elsewhere. Take a no deal, take the hit. The EU will want to negotiate a trade deal later and it would benefit both sides. Approaching it from a different perspective later could easily mean missing out on the poor conditions being put forward just now. Short term pain for long term gain.

Even if what you're saying is correct (I'm not qualified to comment either way) it's still going to result in a lot of businesses that rely on European markets having problems. The people that run and work for these companies need to know what is happening. Vague assurances of a deal which may or may not come in the future and which will probably take several years to negotiate aren't much use to anybody.

29 people have voted for No Deal. 29 people have voted for food shortages, medical shortages, devastation of business up and down the land, and death. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Is all this like a movie to some people? Like - you just can't get your head around what No Deal actually involves? And the human misery and social catastrophe it'll cause? It's astounding, truly.

Death?

Even by Lawson's standards, an utterly absurd post.

How's the weather in Uruguay by the way?

And thus, you instantly prove my point. People will die as a result of No Deal Brexit. Just as they've already died - well over a hundred thousand, and counting - as a result of this government's catastrophic domestic policies.

Are you seriously this oblivious? This sheltered? This plain ignorant? What, exactly, do you think will result from food and especially medical shortages? A party?

Remain is the easily the best deal. We preserve our access to our most lucrative market whilst retaining the ability to influence the policies that enable that access

The first thing we will have to do in a 'no deal' scenario, is begin the protracted process of agreeing a deal. In the meantime our businesses will suffer a serious negative impact and there will be a human cost, as a consequence of not only the economic impact, but the short to medium term problems of supply issues with medicine and food.

If we have to come to a solution that delivers the result of the illegally campaigned for and won, advisory and non binding referendum, then any Brexit that retains all of the market access and labour market mobility is the best of a bad set of options.

No, I'm not ok. And you know why? Because I have friends and family in the UK.

I realise this idea that the world is not all about the individual is completely alien to the I'm alright Jack types who seem to dominate the UK nowadays, and have turned it into a mean, nasty, angry, spiteful, stupid little island which couldn't give a shit about anyone poor or vulnerable - but awfully sorry. It isn't. The world is about family, friendship, community, love, taking care of each other. You know what many British people think it's all about? Money and property. If you have it, you're fine; if you don't, you can get ****ed, seems to be the attitude of horrendous numbers.

The prospects of the NHS taking care of anyone seriously ill will be hugely hit by a No Deal Brexit. No Deal means supply chains slowing down or even collapsing. No Deal means border checks at Dover likely to cause utter chaos: meaning supplies of various medicines may well dry up. The government's own impact assessments have told them this - and on the basis that this government couldn't run a bath, I can't pretend I have any faith they'd have a clue what to do if No Deal happens.

What does someone who needs their medication daily in order to survive do if supplies run out? Have you even thought about it for a single moment? Sorry, stupid question - given the only thing that matters in your world seems to be yourself.

In your opinion.

You're really over egging the no deal scenario. Normally you post well but your hysteria on this is completely undermining any good points you do have.

Champagne socialist hanging out in Uruguay abusing people on the internet and lecturing others on how to make their country a better place. If you care so much about the UK why don't you live here and make it better by example?

The management of Calais, Channel Tunnel & Dover ports have all said there will be no delays at the ports.

The ex head of P&O ferries who now works for the port authority (or something like that, didn't catch his full job title or his name) said last week on Sky News that the only delays that there will be, will be with freight leaving the UK, not entering the UK and the only empty shelves will be on the French side of the channel not the British side.

Now who do I believe, the people who run the ports and are on the ground everyday or a Government which by your own assessment 'couldn't run a bath'.

I know who I believe.

Perhaps after Brexit we will be able to stop large companies shuffling all their UK revenues through Ireland/ Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Google on its own does not pay us £1.5 billion per annum as it passes all its UK advertising revenues through Dublin.

Apple - have they repaid the billions they owe Ireland from the illegal tax deal?

Starbucks?

Ireland I suspect are more bothered about its tax revenues - and the fear that UK will leave and cut its rates to below Ireland (who will still be held in by EU taxation rules and state aid rules).

I also suspect when we are out, many of the companies that now have their EU headquarters on the continent will need new UK headquarters.

Whilst I am a remainer, I don't buy the massive hysteria- on QT the head of Next was quite clear that it would have little impact.. and seemed very sincere.

Most of what I buy is from china, designed in the UK/ America.

Most of my food is UK grown/reared/processed- it would, if anything become cheaper as it cannot leave the country.

Fruit is sourced from all over the world, as is veg.

We are one of the worlds largest pharmaceuticals manufacturers- most of the generics are UK or Indian made- again not affected.

No deal does not scare me- I don't want to brexit, but I'm not scared of it

Sensible post, I just wish more people would adopt the same thinking, instead of cacking their breeks and panicing at the latest scare story.

The UK exports 45 million packs of drugs to the EU every month, whilst we import 37 million packs from the EU, so any delays in their supply is going to hit the EU as much if not more than the UK, and for this very reason there will not be any delays for pharmaceutical products between the UK & the EU.

Why do folk never bring population into their views. 45m packs  to 500m people against 37m packs to 65m people. Stop the sleight of hand propaganda.

Edit:  Never gave population difference a thought tbh.
