The programme for the Edinburgh International Festival has been announced this morning.

The free opening event is set to be held at Tynecastle, with the LA Philharmonic performing a free show on Friday 2nd August - more info here. Will be interesting to see what the set up is for this.

This could be a real benefit to Hearts as there will be a lot of tourists attending and it might encourage some of them to take in a match.

Need to register to buy tickets first though, pretty restrictive if your a tourist who fancies a game on the off chance

Gustavo Dudamel is a great conductor and the music of John Williams is timeless.

And Tynecastle is a perfect venue.

Free concert too, tickets will go fast when they are released on july 1st.

Doing a ballot for the tickets according to Evening News though programme doesn't say that.

I'd go with the EIF website in this instance. Tickets have been available first come, first serve from their website for these launch events in the past.

World’s greatest football club hosts the opening event of the world’s greatest arts festival. Something very right about this.
