We are not talking people who live in the local area, kids go to same school etc.  We are talking a Muslim or a lesbian living up in say Aberdeen saying they are in the same community as people they do not know down in Plymouth for no other reason that what they are, or the label they wear.

What? Like a community of interest?

It's everyones right to identify themselves as and with whatever and whomever they see fit.

I think your discontent  may stem from an inherent dislike of feeling left out.

Your understanding sorry ignorance of what a community is astounding...!!  Communities of people , interests, etc have been with us since the beginning of time.  You dont strike me of " we are all one " type of person judging by your postings . Its you who appear to segregate people into communities and then condemn it.  Very very odd perspective.

I am certainly not a "we are all one" person but I don't spend my existence telling of how inclusive I am. That is why when I hear the term "inclusivity" I call bullshit on it.  It is such a nonsense saying and so unbelievably self-serving.  It is not in our human nature to be inclusive.  8 billion people out there and I personally would wish to steer clear of most.

Will be interesting to see what happens when these super progressive types have the LGBT issue to contend with in contrast to Islams deeply held beliefs about homosexuality.

Yet again, Islam is the liberal left’s kryptonite. ‘We hate intolerance of same sex marriage/female oppression/freedom of speech, religion etc (unless it’s brown people that are intolerant).’

I was probably about 8 when I found my first bongo mag stuffed into a hedge on the way home from school.

Was bemoaning the demise of the porn fairy just the other day as a pal and I walked past a civic hedgerow which in a previous time would have been bespattered with soft to middling scud.

They were simpler times.

Nah. It will hopefully be a more accepting world, with less discrimination. About time too...

Indeed. Any forested area in town was a veritable library.

Adam Murray

Strange these days that you cant get a top shelf copy of Club, Escort, or Mayfair for your more upmarket thrashers, from your local WH Smith, or John Menzies back in the day, but there is no end to the amount of gay material on sale.

I did like to read the stories, readers wives though!!

In terms of communities I’m still struggling to see how the Ts fit in with the LGBs.

The one I struggle with is how feminists use the flag as one of their poster boards. They fail to realise that half the represented 'community' in it are not female and certainly do not view females in the same extreme high regard as those not represented on it.

The far left are so weighed down by the massive chips on their shoulder they genuinely do not know their arse from their elbow. Everything they stand against they seem to represent in their own actions (intolerance, hate, fascism, controlled speech and violence). A facet of the general public so utterly fuelled by race, gender and sex but then spend their days shouting down at us all telling us how much race, gender and sex should not matter.  Yeah pal I know, hence I don't ever make an issue out of it.

I have absolutely no problems with anyone and how they identify in terms of LGBT but the pandering on certain aspects is getting a bit extreme.

Got an email the other day at work regarding period poverty. My work is making free sanitary products available for those that need - excellent news!

The email continued to state that these products would be make available in male toilets too for 'males that mensturate'.

Come on now. Just go to any toilet (females do not want to share a toilet with males in my experience) and do what you need to do.

Yeah I've never been too comfortable with trans being included under the same heading as the others are sexual preferences.

Trans is not.

It's an identity issue.

Some trans are asexual, some are "straight" and some are "gay".

We're in a period of adjustment when it comes to acceptance of gender diversity. Don't worry about it - it doesn't affect you (I assume), and you can just ignore it. What's of more concern is that your employer can't spell "menstruate" correctly. Shocking in this day and age!

When I was over in Sweden lately, there were quite a few gender-neutral toilets about, usually with a common washing area, some cubicles, and often a small pissoir for those who wish to piss standing up. With something like that it would be perfect - just place the sanitary products in the washing area. Perhaps the moral of your story is therefore that we should be moving to implement gender-neutral toilets in this way.

Pretty much what I was getting at. I don't care what you idenfity as - it is none of my business!

Remove the male/female signs from the doors and it pretty much fixes the issue. A bog is a bog, do what you have to do and leave it clean for the next person behind you.

Everyone needs to adopt some common sense and pragmatism during this time of adjustment.

Agreed. I look at it as if a bird has been released from a cage though. I'm not surprised if it wants to go flapping about making as much noise as possible and revelling in its new-found freedom, singing it to the world and trying to make sure it doesn't get shoved back in that cage again. Once acceptance becomes the new norm, everything should settle down again. That's par for the course for most such periods of adjustment in society.
