Angus Gunn could be a decent back up for Gordon

Gunn has already turned down the opportunity to represent Scotland. Even though his dad was a Scotland international, Gunn was born and raised in England. Can’t really blame him for not having any affinity with us.

He’s represented England at all levels from under 16 to under 21. He even received a call up to full team in 2017 to replace Jack Butland, who pulled out of the squad.

Interesting looking back at comments from a few years ago.  Gilmour the only one who's made it really.

There does seem to be a trend of young prospects stagnating in Scotland, is the cause because of the old firm or just money in general?

The blueprint has to be McGinn for younger guys - get consistent game time under belt before moving south.

Good call on Hickey.

Like these type of threads.

There’s a lot of lads in the Scotland u21s at the moment who play down south. It’s probable that they’ve been poached at a young age similar to Simpson from us & Kerr Smith from Dundee Utd have been by Villa, but they’ve gone under the radar.

One to keep an eye on this.

Fraser Hornby looks quality.

What ever happened to him?

Looked a cracking player in his early days. Mind him having a great game against us, in which we struggled to deal with him. But made the classic mistake of thinking going to one of ye OF as a youngster was a good idea. Barely featured for Rangers (if at all) and has only had a few pretty uninspiring loan moves since. I was surprised to see that he’s still at Rangers.
