Guys

The jambo in question was our father who saw his first hearts game at the age 5 in 1939.

Despite a valiant struggle he lost his fight for life just after 9pm last night.

My brothers and I would like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to all the paramedics, st andrews ambulance staff ,stewards and members of the public who came to his assistance and tried desperately to revive him.

Many thanks also to the hearts family for all your messages of condolence and support.

You're father was a star by the sounds of that.

80 years of dedication to Hearts.

Can only add to everyone's heartfelt sympathy on this thread.

I really hope he cheers us on to Cup glory this year

RIP

So sorry for your loss lads

Very sad news, its awful witnessing these things at the football, it does put things in perspective, thankfully if your going to take a bad turn there's worse places to be, with paramedics and fellow jambos close by.

Condolences to the family. RiP.

I know at times like this it won't be of much comfort but it sounds like your father passed away doing something he had enjoyed all his life.
Heartfelt sympathies to you and your family.

I’d happily accept both the gentleman’s age and place of passing if we could choose. What memories he must have had of our stadium.
