Interesting one - prior to his injury he was very highly rated. Could be a real gem. Time will tell though. I hope his medical has been very  thorough though.

"Looking to the future"

That'll never catch on on here, in fact I'd go as far to say that this signing is a statement of intention.

Can't see the mouth frothers seeing it though.

I'm unsure about this singing only played around 12 times since the beginning of 2016/17 season and the last of them coming in January 17.  We've giving Ben Garuccio a 3 year deal and we have Bobby Burns who is rated highly and we paid money for him also on a 3 year deal.  Would rather give them a chance than bringing in someone who is a risk.  Saying that if it works out and he is great for us then brilliant

Well we've been 'looking to the future' for 4 years now and it's been used as a comfort blanket for many fans.

When does 'the future' arrive?

Good to have a project player.

Worked really well with Amankwaa.  And Martin

Reckon he won’t be on much money at all. Very low risk signing. If he gets back his form, will be a class signing. The fact Levein said been in dialogue with him for last year suggests he’s been told a deal on table if proves over injury problems.

Plus good time to get him in, couple months left of season, gets solid preseason under belt, many games etc. He should be raring to go start of season. Whereas potentially if left longer other teams would be sniffing.

Oh great another one of these. Isn't there a risk he won't play and be complete waste of time or am I just being ridiculous?

Weird signing. Let's hope he's not completely Aidy White.

with Mitchell gone we need cover at full back so it's not completely weird as another poster said one to 'shift a few season tickets' I don't think it will though.. Yes I would say its a meh signing

That’s a risk with any player. None of us know the terms of his deal re options if he doesn’t get to full fitness etc... Hope it works out.

Fingers crossed the curse of the left back doesn’t strike him too.

He's been out for two years. Think the cold hand of misfortune has already tapped him on the shoulder, mate.

Probably be another dud and another waste of time. Getting used to it now though so no harm done.

Been with us some time, obviously had to sign him up before he could play, could get a start tomorrow.

What statement do you think Hearts are making with this signing?

Time will tell but the club clearly thinks the risk is outweighed by the potential benefits.

We signed Michael Smith and he has been a real success, solid lower league English player, fringes of his international team and a guy who played regularly. That seems a good basis for recruitment. This is another blind gamble though, taking chances on a player with injury issues in a season where injuries wrecked our season.

Our signing policy is random at best.

Doesn’t sound from the article that he’s ready to start tomorrow.

His Career has bee ravaged by injury and we give him a 2 year deal

Strange

Maybe it was something like 1k a week for a one year deal, then his agent pushed for 700 quid a week for a 2 year dea to give him more job security but less of a wage? The numbers are just examples.

I seem to recall he'd had knee knack.

doctor jambo

That's the market we're in.

good Scottish players the OF don't want, our own youth products and yard scratchings from other lower leagues.

I'm OK with that.

For every Uche there will be a Martin.
