Heard today he’s seeing a specialist later this week but the initial diagnosis from the clubs medical team wasn’t great. They fear his season could be over.

Time will tell.

Hmmmm?

Nap to start tonight then.

Aye?

Look, just passing on what I’ve heard. It’s 3rd hand but I know where it’s meant to have originated from.

I hope as much as any other Hearts fan that it’s bullshit.

I know.

Levein said his knee was nipping him, not damaged.

He also said there was a chance of him making it tonight.

That's a long way from being out the rest of the season.

Ugh seriously? Its a must win game but surely an excellent opportunity to give game time to Keena!

Disappointed with that.

Radio Scotland said Naismith might be out for season. Think it was Biscuits who mentioned it.

He hasn't been the same for the last month or so. It makes it a risky signing to give him a longer term contract as well.

Agree. If were going to be laying out a serious wage on him it may not be value for money. He's really not been the same since his last injury.

If this another lengthy spell out with a knee injury, it will be the 3rd spell in two years.

Hopefully he sees that there is a long term place within the club for him. His knee problem is obviously an issue but come the summer I think we'll see additions which will ease the pressure on him provided he signs permanently.

Commentators on Hearts TV confirm that Naismith is due a scan on his knee...

Feckin shite news!!! A fit on form Naismith could have made all the difference in our SC chances - not now!!!!

He must be desperate for a cup final - been quite a few years and he may not get another chance. I know I’m clutching at straws but the man is a legend

If ever there was an epitome of a one man team its us!! Literally without him we have nothing....no class....no desire...no urgency.....if I was a player in that team I would hang my head in shame it takes someone like Naismith to ****ing shake people up and lead from the front....

In many ways, its actually a problem being so reliant on one player, even when he does play, regardless of how good he is....we need to learn to play, compete and win without Naisy.... ??

Was told last night that it's highly likely that Naismith will be out for the rest of the season....

Here's hoping the source, who has very good links to Hearts Academy is BANG OUT and it's just a bad rumour.

Seems to be growing legs. Not great to think we may never see him play for hearts again.

If this case wouldn't be offering him contract to remain next season ! Last thing we need is injury prone player in my opinion

Just noticed another thread on him 1 page back.

Here's hoping the arms and legs stop growing and we get need ASAP

Hearts have/had a knack of accomodating injury prone players.

Hearts need to think carefully on this one.

I would love to see him continue his career with us, but if that's true it's three big injuries in a couple of years. It could be we saw the last of him at this level, as sad as it is to say that.

I really like Naismith and think he’s been brilliant for us. However it’s not good to rely on one player so much, especially one who is injury prone.

Even if he does come back I would be wary about signing him permanently as that knee seems a bit too dodgy for my liking.  It would be sad as he has done well for us but he's not getting any younger either.

Offer him the manager’s job!!!

Seriously, heard this last night and it’s a severe body blow, if true. Can’t see anyone stepping up to the plate in his absence.

I still want him here next season, perhaps with a view to taking the reins for 2020/21...

Naismith as player coach?!

I'd be very happy to see that, if it's what he wants to do with his career. Would love to keep him, but as a 40 game a season main striker his fitness could be a worry.

Then eke his career out like Hughes.

He's an intelligent guy, I suppose there's a lure from MLS for a big wage season, but if he's becoming injury prone then the move might never happen. In which case, if he took on the player coach role here, he plays when fit, but even on the sidelines he would be massively influential.
