Its very strange how Musk has concluded that  Tommy Robinson must be the right kind of guy to become the next PM.   Based on the number of racist nutjobs following him on Twitter presumably ?

Shame he can’t even be an MP as he is convicted criminal and a bankrupt individual.

He's kinda got his career as an MP back to front.

Would it surprise anyone if Boris ended up as leader of Reform?

There's a theory among some online political geeks that Farage isn't actually interested in becoming PM - he'd then have to take responsibility for stuff, which would harm his reputation.

Their  main purpose is to force the Tories much further to the Right, then  Farage stands down as Reform leader ahead of the GE so that most Reform voters switch back to the Tories - who may have a "man of the people" leader by then.   That might be Boris.

Gone off the boil now of course but the Cybertruck explosion, pending final confirmation of the identity of the perp/suicide victim, is now fairly well confirmed to be a rabidly pro-Trump/pro-Musk fellow who was ready to go out and wanted to do it with a bang. He even wrote two "minifestos" about why he'd done it.

Quote

Military and vets move on DC starting now. Militias facilitate and augment this activity.
Occupy every major road along fed buildings and the campus of fed buildings by the hundreds of thousands.
Lock the highways around down with semis right after everybody gets in. Hold until the purge is complete.
Try peaceful means first, but be prepared to fight to get the Dems out of the fed government and military by any means necessary. They all must go and a hard reset must occur for our country to avoid collapse.

We must end the war in Ukraine with negotiated settlement. It is the only way.
Focus on strength and winning. Masculinity is good and men must be leaders. Strength is a deterrent and fear is the product.

Stop obsessing over diversity. We are all diverse and DEI is a cancer.
Thankfully we rejected the DEI candidate and will have a real President instead of Weekend at Bernie’s.

Consider this last sunset of ‘24 and my actions the end of our sickness and a new chapter of health for our people. Rally around the Trump, Musk, Kennedy, and ride this wave to the highest hegemony for all Americans! We are second to no one.

But Homan, Trump's pick for homeland security, is on cable news saying it's a terrorist attack by an immigrant, because he "just has a feeling."

Still waiting for Musk to call to disband the military since they are the terrorists now.

I read the same about Farage, PM would be his worst nightmare.

I sincerely hope you're wrong about Boris, the Tories need to move to the centre.

That quote you gave, which won't show up on this post, is the deranged nonsense of a fanatic.  The re-election of Trump has enabled these people.  That should be a matter of concern to all sensible Americans.

Logic suggests that this is just rightist nutsos being, well, rightist nutsos.  The modern-day iteration of extremist conservatism seems to specalise in managerial incompetence and an inability to focus on getting work done.

There is another possibility, which is that it's all some kind of distraction game.  There's no doubt that Musk is a monumental gobshite, and as I saw him described during the week he's the world's richest pub bore.  But he's also a very rich uber-capitalist, and they tend to have very simple wants and needs of politics, which is to be left as free as possible to get richer.  Normally they achieve that best by operating quietly in the shadows and behind the scenes.  Is Musk just being a noisy arse because he's a noisy arse who can't help himself and who can't keep away from the ketamine?  Or is he playing silly games to distract the media and the mug punters from some other dodgy get-even-richer scam he's trying to run?

My opinion? He just can't help himself, particularly now he's had a whiff of pseudo political power.

There'll be a human supernova when his and Trump's hyper-inflated egos inevitably collide.

My take is he’s now worked out how much it annoys people in Britain so he’s going to post silly stuff like this finding it amusing.

Rape genocide, eh ?  Sounds like an expression Daddy Musk may have been familiar with during the apartheid years. Maybe even something white South African males  were encouraged to participate in   ?

The Wiki page for Daddy Musk  suggests that the guy who posted this  may well be correct in what he says.

But aye, just blame Jess Phillips. :interehjrling:

Indeed. 😃   They'd probably make an attempt to differentiate the two though - Brexit was about pesky Europeans telling us what to do, whereas Musk is a mega-rich South African (*)  telling us what to do.

(conveniently ignoring that Musk is descended from pesky racist Europeans) :whistling:

That's Trump' political comeback complete and he's smelling like roses.

In the meantime, his former lawyer and biggest fan, Giuliani, is up to his neck in legal problems as a result of his efforts to help Trump overthrow the election, and Trump can't / won't do anything to help him.  Rudy, you've been had!  🤡

There are a lot of "urgent" court appeals going on this week, mainly aimed at preventing Trump's sentencing for the NY hush money/false accounting case due on Friday and the publication of Jack Smith's report into the January 6th riot.

Trump has just announced he is changing the name "Gulf of Mexico" to "Gulf of America".  That's in addition to the usual threats to Panama, Mexico and Canada.

There are the Trump court cases.

But what changes everything is pardoning the Jan 6 people. Starts a new era for the Prouds Boys etc. They become key important reputable part of American society shaping how it goes.

Trump has said that he will pardon them on his first day.  I believe him.

Hitler annexed Austria, then he occupied the Sudetenland, then he demanded Danzig from Poland.  I doubt if Trump has read a history book (or any book for that matter), so maybe land grabbing just comes naturally to some people.

I suppose, but it's not like they're going to be tremendously accessible any time soon. I suppose the melt will eventually allow for some mining but one of the things about Greenland is it's so hard to explore we're largely just guessing at what's under all the ice.

I don't think it's just his backers. I think he wants territorial expansion of the US for his own ego and Greenland makes sense if you're looking at a map and don't have the curiousity to find out anything else.
