Great speech by the King. Plenty of subtle digs at Trump and his minions. It will , however, be way too subtle for the orange moron to understand, but I am sure Stephen Miller will break it down for him. Fully expecting a social media post from him soon slagging off Britain. Must have been very strange to hear a well-delivered , intelligent, calming speech in Congress for a change.

I'm no royalist but I thought that Charles used the opportunity to maximum effect to say some stuff that needed saying.

He needs a new tweet writer.  If he wants to be vague, just say "soon".

I'm firmly against royalty on principle but if one is going to have a king, Chuck 3 is quite a bit better option than our would-be monarch.

This will seem like minor news, but Janet Mills, current Governor of Maine, just dropped her bid for the Democratic nomination for their US Senate seat. The primary is scheduled for June 9.

Mills was very much the "establishment" candidate, heavily backed by Dem Senate leader Chuck Schumer, and had raised a titanic amount of money. But Graham Platner, despite some concern about him having some unsavory tattoos (got while in the services and which he's since removed and apologized for), has built a huge following on an outsider, pro-labor, pro-reform platform and has been endorsed by folks like Elizabeth Warren, who have been unhappy with Schumer's farting around and capitulation while Trump wrecks everything. Despite heavy spending, Mills continued to fall further and further behind in the polls.

(If you've spent much of the last year wondering, "why the **** aren't Democrats doing more?" Schumer has been a big part of the problem. He leads the minority but he's easily the most powerful Democrat in Washington because of the rules of the Senate.)

Platner's rise has been widely read as yet another rebuke for Schumer's failures. This almost certainly cements at least one more vote against his leadership next year, when the Democrats may very well control the Senate again.

A bonus from the King's visit.

𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗝. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁 - 𝟬𝟮:𝟯𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝟬𝟰.𝟯𝟬.𝟮𝟲 In Honor of the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, who have just left the White House, soon headed back to their wonderful Country, I will be removing the Tariffs and Restrictions on Whiskey having to do with Scotland’s ability to work with the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Whiskey and Bourbon, two very important Industries within Scotland and Kentucky. People have wanted to do this for a long time, in that there had been great Inter-Country Trade, especially having to do with the Wooden Barrels used. The King and Queen got me to do something that nobody else was able to do, without hardly even asking! A wonderful Honor to have them both in the U.S.A.  President DONALD J. TRUMP

Credit where it's due. Auld Charlie did okay. His Ma never kept me off "her" mountains and neither will he. But this time, he gets the thumbs up from me.

Hand up, I have no idea who this guy is, other than that he's apparently the ranking Democratic member on the House Armed Forces Committee.

But this is a very level-headed, grounded reading of Hegseth for filth.

Hidden away in a $72billion spending bill was a $1 billion spend on "security systems for the White House Ballroom"

The Fuhrerbunker grows.

There is a 100% chance that King Donald will refuse to accept any election defeat and withdraw to his nice new bunker and try to rule from there.

These Evangelical people need to be reminded of the Second Commandment.

"You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God..."

Bunch of hypocrites.

I see 600,000 customers (or are they gullible twats) that signed up for a gold Trump Mobile phone are no closer to receiving one, almost a year on.

All have paid $100 deposit (nice $60m to clan Trump).

Great grifting.

Also the small matter that he’s suing the US government and the IRS for $10bn dollars.

He loves his $10bn figure.

That's his BBC number as well.
